It's only June, but it looks like Epic Games is celebrating the spooky season early in Fortnite. Even though we're used to Fortnitemares overtaking the map in October, the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point crossover comic has teased a nightmarish villain from the depths of DC as the battle royale favourite's new skin.

Zero Point has proved to be much more than just a cheap crossover to cash in on our love of Fortnite and comics. As well as killing off the beloved Fishstick, the comic has brought Batman foes like Catwoman and Deathstroke landed in the shop as in-game skins.

The Caped Crusader himself has swooped down onto the map, however, another tie-in skin might be on the way.

What Batman skin could be on the way in Fortnite?

Trusted Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey has six pages from the final issue of the six-part comic series, which includes some surprise cameos. Although the wording is in Spanish, there's plenty to deduce from the pages. In particular, there's a showdown with Deathstroke, Lex Luthor and The Batman Who Laughs.

We'll get onto who The Batman Who Laughs is in a minute, but with Deathstroke already in the game and Lex Luthor being a pretty generic skin, The Batman Who Laughs is a tempting (yet terrifying) concept for Fortnite. The idea that The Batman Who Laughs could be part of Zero Point's final issue and lead to a skin collaboration has taken the internet by storm.

One hopeful player wrote, "If they don’t add the Batman who laughs as a skin seeing as though he is in the final page(s) of the comic I may actually cry. They could even do it as a style for a skin and I would be happy". Another added, "I hope that’s an additional style", as they pointed to The Batman Who Laugh's claws.

Not everyone was convinced, though. Someone rightly pointed to the upcoming arrival of Superman as part of the Chapter 2 Season 7 Battle Pass and said, "Calling it now, we’ll get Lex Luthor as a skin when Superman comes". Luthor probably makes more sense, but adding what's effectively a DC version of the recent Stonks skin? Come on, Epic, you can do better.

Who is The Batman Who Laughs?

For those who aren't well-versed in DC lore, The Batman Who Laughs was introduced in 2017's Dark Days: The Casting #1. A tormented version of Bruce Wayne from Earth-22 of the Dark Multiverse, this Batman faced plenty of horror. After the Joker killed everyone from Penguin to Catwoman and Jim Gordon, this Bruce went on a rampage and brutally snapped his enemy's neck. Unfortunately, this activated a toxin in Joker's body and infected Batman with an incurable venom.

This was the start of The Batman Who Laugh's full transformation, with Bruce soon murdering Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Red Robin in the Batcave, turning his own son into a vampiric sidekick, and butchering the Justice League in brutal fashion.

The Batman Who Laughs has become a fan-favourite addition to DC's world since 2017, and although he might seem too dark for Fortnite's usually squishy world, his imminent arrival isn't completely out of the question. Each issue of Zero Point has come with downloadable perks for those who buy it, and we don't know what's on the way with Issue #6.

While The Batman Who Laughs might seem more suited for Fortnitemares - and could return later in the year - his inclusion in the Chapter 2 Season 7 shop is a surefire way to get players spending their V-bucks. We'll hopefully find out more before Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #6 released on July 6.
