Fnatic Reportedly Wants Jackinho For Their CSGO Roster

In a year where Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rosters have been chopped and change like a kid in a pick 'n mix shop, Fnatic has stayed true to their core by making only one swap. In-game leader and Fnatic Captain Maikil "Golden" Selim joined the side in January, although the 26-year-old ended 2019 on loan at the side from Cloud9.

While the results had quickly dried up for the Swedish roster in 2020, they looked back on track at Flashpoint Season 2, coming third overall after back-to-back bracket final losses to Virtus.Pro and OG. A bronze medal has been their highest placement since April where they took home the ESL Pro League Season 11 title.

Now, despite improvements as of late, it appears that a highly-sought-after Swede has caught the eye of their roster and could be set to throw a cat amongst the pigeons.

Highly prestigious journalist Jarek "Dekay" Lewis has reported that Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattson, a 21-year old semi-professional, is in discussions to join Fnatic.

Primarily playing as an AWPer, Jackinho opened his career in 2016 before taking a two-year hiatus from competing. After making a comeback in 2019 at nerdRage, Visomvet, and Prima Esport, he has quickly caught the attention of Fnatic and could join by the end of the year.

This could see either Jesper "JW" Wecksell or Robin "flusha" Rönnquist become inactive at Fnatic, after they were identified by fans as the two players that could make way. Both JW and flusha have struggled in the online era, a setting which Jackinho has grown within.

With this in mind, Jackinho's tenure at Fnatic could purely be a short-term fix for their online results which have been sub-par for their standards. Replacing one of the bigger wages on the team with someone who can give them a chance at revenue at online events could be a recipe for success, then roll the big guns back out when it comes to LAN again.
