Ah sh*t, here we go again. It didn't take long, but finally, those marvellous modders have brought the world of Grand Theft Auto and Elden Ring together. If you'd ever thought the Lands Between need a bit of that gritty San Andreas street talk, you're in luck.

In Elden Ring, you play as one of the exiled Tarnished - aiming to restore the Elden Ring and banish the monstrous offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal. It's all typical fanciful, but what else would expect from the mind of George R.R. Martin? Although there are five player classes for the Tarnished, modders just added a sixth... Carl "CJ" Johnson from GTA.

What Does The GTA And Elden Ring Mod Look Like?

This is the work of modder Dropoff, who swapped the third-person lead of Elden Ring with CJ. The Elden Ring network test originally ran from November 12-15 and gave us a first real look at what's going on in this Soulslike masterpiece.

Proving that CJ is the ultimate badass, he's kitted in his signature vest and jeans - proving he doesn't need armour. It turns out that GTA and Elden Ring beautifully mesh together, with CJ perfectly fitting the player character. This means we get to see CJ perform full kill animations and then ride off on horseback.

What's Next For Elden Ring?

We already covered how players managed to break out of bounds to discover a secret bear boss in Elden Ring, and while that's all well and good, does it really compare to seeing CJ wield a giant sword? Despite the controversy surrounding the GTA Trilogy, CJ looks better than ever in the new-gen Elden Ring demo.

Now that the doors to modding are thrown wide open, how long is it until someone mods Thomas the Tank Engine as an Elden Ring boss, or what about continuing the GTA theme by swapping the Tarnished for Trevor Phillips?

Elden Ring is already being praised as Dark Souls meets Breath of the Wild, so we're suitably pumped. If gobbling the insides of an anthropomorphic pot man doesn't float your boat, it looks like there's a whole realm to explore. As FromSoftware gallops toward a February 25 release, here's hoping CJ is ready to save the world from destruction.
