Shhh, you better keep this one to yourselves, readers. Share with your squad, but let the enemies in on the secret, and you'll hanging your head in shame from the Gulag balcony wishing you hadn't. The FFAR Assault Rifle from Black Ops Cold War has quickly become one of the most brutal guns in the Warzone battle royale.

However, the variety of builds are having players scratching their heads as to which barrel or stock to use. Despite the varied attachments on display across Verdansk, the FFAR has received a sly and cheeky buff to certain attachments whilst fixing one of the broken underbarrels. Until recently, the Bruiser Foregrip was buffing the weapon with a hidden 150% vertical and horizontal recoil reduction but was quickly patched up by Treyarch. With this in mind though, the developers have added a slight change to some other attachments, adding to the power and finesse of the FFAR.

The highlight of the FFAR is its immense bullet velocity and accuracy, especially across mid-close ranges, and with these two hidden attachments, the bullet velocity nearly doubles, making it practically unstoppable.

Secretly Buffed FFAR Attachments

The lucky recipients of the buff were both in the barrel categories, meaning you can only choose one.

Both the Ranger Barrel and Task Force Barrel received a significant increase in bullet velocity, increasing its time-to-kill (TTK) rate. Highlighted in Nick "Nickmercs" Kolscheff's latest Warzone video, you can see the Ranger Barrel on display.

The Ranger Barrel originally had a bullet velocity increase of 57%, however, with the secret buffing, it now increases it by 89%. The increase of 32% is astronomical for a buff, where you seldom see anything change more than 20%.

As for the Task Force Barrel which also increases effective damage range at the expense of some mobility, the bullet velocity was increased by 16%. Although it was under half of the increase of the Ranger Barrel, the added bonus gives players that added kick at more expansive ranges, especially with those first few bullets before any recoil can kick in.

Best FFAR Loadout Post-Buff

With the changes, you will certainly want to equip either of these barrels. The Ranger Barrel is best up close, whereas the Task Force Barrel is best to increase range,; depending on your playstyle, you'll need to choose accordingly.

  • Barrel - 21.2" Ranger / 19.5" Task Force
  • Muzzle - Agency Suppressor
  • Underbarrel - Infiltrator Grip / Field Agent Foregrip (Dependant on Barrel)
  • Ammunition - Salvo 50 Round Fast Mag

This secret loadout will have you shredding opponents. You're welcome.
