As the world celebrated National Coming Out Day on October 11, Soleil "Ewok" Wheeler marked the occasion by coming out as transgender and bisexual. The 15-year-old is known for his streaming prowess playing Fortnite and as a big part of FaZe Clan.

With FaZe Ewok being a prominent streamer thanks to previously identifying as a woman and being deaf, he's amassed a huge following despite his relatively young age. Following the announcement of being transgender (female-to-male), Wheeler has asked to be referred to with he/him pronouns moving forward.

Ewok shared a lengthy TwitLonger and explained their feelings. Wheeler started, "Today is national coming out day. Not everybody are ready to come out and it is not all about coming out. It’s about celebrating others and finally free to walk in beautiful paradise with others. To many, you are worthy and loved. Take your time. You are still valid".

The heartbreaking story said that Ewok was uncomfortable in his skin for the past eight years, and highlighted a time when they were 11 and used to dress in their brother's clothes. FaZe Ewok concluded that he's "working on it and I am getting better". Although admitting that transitioning will be hard, Ewok is determined to make the move.

Ewok is known for firsts when it comes to esports. In 2019, he became the first woman to join the boys of the FaZe roster. Now, The announcement means FaZe Ewok is the first T1 esports talent to identify as a transgender male and is a massive milestone for the industry.

His social media timeline was soon flooded with messages of love for the young streamer. In a follow-up tweet, Ewok thanked fans for all the support on this part of his journey.

The announcement comes shortly after Ewok returned to Twitch as part of an exclusive deal. Although Ewok had originally left the streaming giant for Mixer, it's own short-lived success has led him back to Twitch as one of its biggest names alongside the likes of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins and Michael "shroud" Grzesiek. FaZe Ewok has vowed to keep streaming, so as he embarks on this next chapter, let's give him all the help he needs.
