Call of Duty: Warzone is set for its biggest shake-up ever going into this festive season, as the long-standing Verdansk, in both of its original and 80s form, is about to be gone forever in favour of the brand-new Caldera.

Warzone is being whisked back into the WWII era with Caldera, to coincide with the release of Vanguard. With over 150 weapons to choose from in a blend of forestry, quarried, and volcanic terrain, Caldera is poised to reignite the imagination of Call of Duty fans as the meta grows stale on Verdansk.

However, insider news has been scarce on the exact locations that Caldera will boast, apart from what has been released by Raven Software in official imagery.

Instead, the leakers have been focused on what life is like after Caldera, and as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 is on the horizon (Modern Warfare II - original Roman numerals to avoid confusion with the popular MW2). Now, according to Tom Henderson, a reputable leaker in the Call of Duty industry, a MWII Warzone map is set to proceed Caldera, and will play host to some iconic locations.

Henderson, as per VGC, has claimed that popular MW2 maps such as Favela and Terminal will be included into the island, set for release in Q4 of 2022.

Other iconic maps from the classic MW2 could also feature, including Afghan, Quarry, and Trailer Park.

The most notable of the maps mentioned come in the way of Favela, a Brazillian landscape at the foot of Christ the Redeemer that also featured heavily in the campaign, and Terminal, a multiplayer battleground that has been remastered countless times in an attempt to relive its glory days.

Unfortunately for nostalgia hopefuls, there's no mention of either Highrise, Wasteland, or Rust, all of which were epochal in the development of the Call of Duty franchise thanks to their blaring popularity in MW2

Henderson also detailed that the sequel will continue to include the archetypal Task Force 141, including the likes of Captain Price, Ghost, and the recently introduced Alex.

The Warzone MW2 map will likely launch in December 2022, just like Vanguard's WW2 variant will be released a month after the full game's launch.
