Fall Guys Auctions Off Customised In-Game Skin For Gaming Charity
Since Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout hit out screens on August 4, its ascension to the top of the list as the most popular battle royale has been somewhat magical. Beating titles to Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to their very own crown as the most viewed battle royale game of last week (August 3-9), giving them at least one more crown than TimTheTatman.
The popularity of the mini beans' Total Wipeout-esque gameplay has skyrocketed, and it's not only huge streamers that have been attracted to Developer Digitals hilarious new battle royale. Brands and sponsors alike have all been keeping a close eye on the game, and huge esports organisations have been monitoring the game for a chance to collaborate with a themed skin or arena sponsors. Well now is their chance.
Fall Guys has announced a two-week-long auction for one brand to have their own in-game costume. Entries for the branded costume are available through replying to the tweet with the amount they are willing to, with the highest bidder after two weeks being granted the cosmetic. All proceeds will be donated to Special Effect, a charity 'that's levelling the playing field for gamers with physical disabilities'.
As of writing, G2 Esports leads the way with a bid of $130,003, creating a samurai-like bean, similar to the logo of the esports giants. This beats the previous bids of $120,000 by BisectHosting (a Minecraft server hosting platform), and $100,000 by MrBeastYT.
Special Effect is the charity in which all proceeds will be donated to. Their slogan "It's everyone's turn to play video games" epitomises their vision, as they aim to help disabled children and adults enjoy video games through controller modifications, voice and switch controls and therapeutical care.
If you've got a cool $150,000 you can be sure to enter, but if you're like us and don't have loose pocket change like that hanging around, you will be able to contribute to the fundraising when the skins drop after the winners have been announced.
