Excel Esports Complete Dynamic Duo By Signing FIFA Star 'Gorilla'
Shortly after becoming the first-ever organisation to complete a transfer signing of a professional FIFA player, EXCEL Esports have captured yet another world-renowned star to complete their competitive duo.
Spencer "Gorilla" Ealing has joined EXCEL Esports for a second time, making his return to the organisation after six years. The 24-year-old professional moved away from EXCEL Esports back in 2015, moving on to the likes of FaZe Clan and Epsilon, where he won the 2017 FIFA World Championships.
Now, the British streamer will be returning to EXCEL Esports and will feature in their professional roster alongside partner Tom "Tom" Leese and team coach Nathan "Zelonius" Horton.
Recently, Tom Leese was signed by EXCEL Esports in a ground-breaking transfer for FIFA esports, having been bought from non-league football club Hashtag United for a fee expected to be up to £100,000 in value.
The two will now compete together, with the aim of "dominating" the FIFA 22 Global Series, which is set to kick off in November.
Upon signing for Excel, Gorilla said, "I am thrilled to be joining the EXCEL team again! I am hoping to make EXCEL my new long-term home and believe the endless support I receive from the team will help me to reach my goal - which is to win."
EXCEL has a storied relationship with FIFA esports, having formed a partnership with Global Ambassador and English international footballer, Dele Alli, earlier in 2020. The Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder commented on Gorilla's arrival, saying: "It’s great to see EXCEL moving into the competitive FIFA scene! I have been playing FIFA in my spare time for a while now and love the game, so I'm excited to see where this new chapter will take them,
"I am looking forward to watching them dominate the FIFA scene."
Gorilla and Tom will now look to rise through the ranks on FIFA Ultimate Team's Elite Division before embarking on a journey to conquer the FGS Open in December.
