Apex Legends Season 4 will go live on the tomorrow at around 11:00 AM PST. Since every season has its unique name, Season 4 is no different and is titled “Assimilation” by the developers over at Respawn Entertainment. This update will feature several changes, but the most notable of them are:

With the launch of Season 4, a new Sniper that goes by the name Sentinel is going to be added to the already large arsenal. This will mark the sixth sniper rifle in Apex Legends, joining the G7 Scout, Longbow DMR, Triple Take, Charge Rifle, and Kraber .50-cal.

This isn’t the first time a new weapon has been introduced to the fray, as previously with every new season a weapon was added, and this will be the 2nd consecutive time a Sniper has been added with Charge Rifle being added with Season 3’s release.

This weapon is a Bolt-Action Sniper and will supposedly “Cut through your enemies' armor before they ever see you coming.” Only this much information has been provided by Respawn and it is yet unsure which ammo this gun will be used.

A New Legend

Last week, Respawn Entertainment announced that with the release of Season 4 a new Legend: Forge will be added to the game; however, throughout the week on Apex’s social channels the community was granted the opportunity to witness an extraordinary story revolving around Forge. On Monday, in a tweet Apex uploaded a short clip of Forge giving an interview on being able to participate in Apex Games. The interview didn’t last long and was interrupted by a character named “Revenant” stabbing Forge and allegedly murdering him.

Today the final trailer for Season 4 was released, in which the backstory of Revenant is portrayed. Revenant was once the greatest hitman the Syndicate ever had. But when his programming failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into. Hammond Robotics' return to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead. And the official page that once displayed Forge as an upcoming Legend is now instead of showing Revenant, with this description: “Consumed by hate and obsessed with revenge, Revenant uses unnatural abilities to haunt his enemies and defy death.”

There is still a faint possibility that Forge might return since in the video of Forge giving an interview he has a scar on his forehead while in all the other illustrated pictures it seems to be missing and in the charm players received upon visiting sorting factory, it was written that he was often imitated hinting that the Forge we saw at the interview was nothing but a stunt double and Forge is still alive and might be released in the second split of Season 4 or next Season.

Ranked Series 3

Alongside Apex Legends' Season 4 launch, players will be able to participate in Ranked Series 3. The main purpose of this update is to introduce changes in the system based on the feedback collected from the players, as well as the analytics of the overall series. The most significant are as follows:

Introduction of Master Tier

The most eminent reason that Master Tier was introduced is the fact that in Ranked Series two players found it easier to ranked Apex Predator, which made it hard to showcase the skill between any two Apex Predators this season. Although Master and Apex Predator Tier will have the same Entry Cost, Apex Predator will only consist of the top 500 players by the platform. The RP required to make it to Master Tier will same as Apex Predator was -- 10,000 RP.

Season Split and Soft Reset

Due to the long span of Ranked Series 1 and 2, its engagements dissipated after a period as things became monotonous. For this reason, the developer at Respawn Entertainment has decided to divide the Ranked Series 3 into two parts, of 6 weeks each with Split 1 being played on World’s Edge and Split 2 on King’s Canyon.

Overall, Ranked rewards will be granted for the highest tier achieved in either split of the series, but exclusive animated badges will be granted if you can make it to the same tier in both splits.

Initially, players will incur a soft rest, which means that they will be demoted down by a tier and a half at the start of the Ranked Series; after the end of the first split, the player will incur another soft reset as a process of making Ranked Series even more exigent.
