ESIC Launch Investigation Into Heroic Players Following Cheating Accusations
Heroic's saga against their former head coach Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen has headed into another chapter, as the recently imposed ban on the coach has seen him now look to retaliate against the organisation by bringing them down too.
HUNDEN was previously slapped with a two-year ban for leaking "sensitive information" about Heroic's team plans, specifically their anti-strategy plays, despite a final plea that the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) wasn't listening to his side of the story.
The imposed ban was the second in successive years for HUNDEN, after ESIC also suspended the coach for his admitted usage of the spectator's bug in competitive Counter-Stike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) matches, in a wave of bans that saw 36 other coaches receive similar enforcements.
Now, the initial ban has been pulled from the dredges, as HUNDEN looks to bring his former organisation down with him.
The Danish coach has allegedly now provided ESIC with evidence that his former organisation was fully aware of the spectator bug, including the roster of players at that respective period.
During the initial investigations, where HUNDEN's suspension was reduced for being complicit in the investigations, the coach originally had the stance of acting "on my own, without the knowledge of my teammates."
However, after being imposed with a two-year ban, possibly ending his coaching career at the highest level, HUNDEN has now changed his story and provided 'evidence' that puts the former Heroic players under the spotlight.
One piece of evidence that has been revealed to the public, by Danish outlet TV2, details a conversation between HUNDEN and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen where the player claims "everyone on our team knew" about the bug. niko has now moved to VALORANT and will feature for 100 Thieves in the Champions Tour Masters 3: Berlin.
Another piece of evidence was shown by TV2, where former Heroic player René "TeSeS" Madsen allegedly rotates to the area of the map that the bug was prevalent on, in order to gain information from his coach. The outlet claimed that "one of the world’s leading referees" said that the allegations "definitely make sense."
Prior to their games in the ESL pro-league, Heroic declined to make any comments on the matter during their press conference.
The organisation seemed to be in full focus for their fixtures in the Pro League, having swept through the group stages 5-0, setting up a quarterfinal match-up against either forZe or ENCE.
