Dr Disrespect Hits Back Following Mobile Gaming Backlash
Dr Disrespect is Public Enemy No.1 in the mobile gaming community after he called out the genre on social media. Over the years, Doc has risen to the top of the streaming community to become one of the most prominent content creators out there. Despite his indefinite ban on Twitch, Dr Disrespect has continued to amass even more followers over on YouTube. Despite being such a big name in the world of gaming, that doesn't mean he's perfect. Now, he's responding to backlash following his scathing attack on mobile gamers.
Just days ago, Doc boasted about his $200K gaming setup and mocked mobile gaming by asking how anyone could take it seriously. The Tweet soon went viral and caught the attention of pro and casual players alike. With Dr Disrespect's Call of Duty history, it's no surprise Call of Duty: Mobile players were soon out for his blood. Not taking it lying down, the Two-Time is defending what he said and doubling down on his love of traditional home gaming.
Dr Disrespect mobile gaming backlash: What's he said?
In typical Dr Disrespect style, he's poking fun at the whole debacle. In a new skit, he pretended to play a game on a flip phone while not "knowing" he was being filmed. Discussing the latest drama with Zack "ZLaner" Lane, Doc explained, "I’m getting a lot of heat these days on Twitter...I just explained what my setup was in comparison to a mobile gaming setup. I shouldn’t even say anything anymore.”
ZLaner asked for clarification on whether Doc really thinks mobile gaming is a "laughing joke". Sniping back at his critics, Disrespect continued, "I just explained what my setup was, and then with all that said, do I take someone playing on a phone seriously? It was just a question, you know". ZLaner joked, "I was not making fun about it, you're taking things to heart. You're starting to sound like one of those mobile gamers".
ZLaner concluded by saying, "The way I see it is each to their own. At the end of the day, if it makes you happy, you're still going to look like an idiot". The pair then mocked the idea of streaming from a mobile phone as Disrespect continued to joke with his flip phone. Whether the streaming duo are being genuine remains to be seen, but either way, they've rattled a lot of cages.

Ironically, this could all be part of an elaborate hoax and the birth of Dr Disrespect mobile gaming to grow his own brand. In a follow-up tweet to his original about mobile gaming, he asked how to stream from mobile devices. It's interesting that he mentioned it again in his clap-back video. Given his track record, nothing is ever left to chance and it usually leads to something more. Just like his recently cryptic tease of starting his own Call of Duty League team, could this usher in a move to mobile?
If Dr Disrespect wants to hop into Call of Duty: Mobile, he already has plenty of challengers. Content creators like Luke "iFerg" Fergie threw down the gauntlet and challenged Doc to a 1v1 game for a $100,000 prize. He's previously shaded the mobile gaming community, but as the market continues to grow, maybe Dr Disrespect has finally seen the potential in taking his name to the smaller screen. Then again, maybe he really does hate mobile gaming.
