The pressure is mounting on Activision as Dr Disrespect has thrown down the gauntlet and said he thinks Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be the best game in the franchise's acclaimed history. Ahead of the official Call of Duty 2020 reveal, a slew of leaks teased a return to the fan-favourite Black Ops and a move to a new decade with a Cold War setting.

Since the big reveal, a lot of streamers have held out on passing judgement until more multiplayer details are revealed today (September 9). However, some of the more outspoken members of the community have thrown their support behind the title or trashed it before it's even come out. Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, aka Dr Disrespect, is thankfully team Black Ops Cold War, which is good news considering his standing in the industry.

Despite his controversial ban from Twitch, Dr Disrespect is still engaged with his fandom and is one of the most popular streamers out there. After finding a new home with YouTube, he's continued to have followers hanging on his every word. In a recent stream, the Doc championed Black Ops Cold War and told fans what he thinks Treyarch and Raven Software have been cooking up.

After saying Treyarch "don't miss" with CoD games, Dr Disrespect added, "It’s going to be amazing and I’m going to go ahead and say it right now, I think Cold War is going to be better than Black Ops 2 I know, I said it, I think it’s going to be the best Call of Duty to date, next year".

Discussing the Call of Duty League's move from 5v5 back to 4v4, he concluded, "I think with everything that’s happening with Warzone and the BR, and the cross-platform play, heading into a Treyarch title and then bringing to back to 4v4, and you just know". More than just the random thoughts of a CoD fanboy, some think the likes of Dr Disrespect have already had hands-on experience with Black Ops Cold War and already knows the game better than most.

Despite a slightly bundled announcement from within the Call of Duty: Warzone map, Activision has been right on the money with its Cold War marketing campaign. Hype has been at fever pitch, and with a clever countdown tease of what's coming in multiplayer, everyone has been talking about the game for weeks. Also, with Black Ops Cold War ushering in a new era of console systems on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, it's easy to see how this could be the best Call of Duty game ever.

That being said, handing Cold War the title of "best" months before its release is a risky move to make. Also, can the long-awaited sequel to 2010's Black Ops really top the likes of Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare? Watch this space.
