The vastly experienced Juliana 'showliana' Maransaldi has joined Dignitas Female's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) roster.

This latest news was announced on the team's Twitter page as showliana returns from retirement to join Dignitas with a warm welcome from the whole roster - including the male roster including Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg.

Dignitas Female roster now consists of:

  • Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido
  • Amanda "rain" Smith
  • Kiara "milk" Makua
  • Melisa "theia" Mundorff
  • Juliana "showliana" Maransaldi

The newly announced showliana joins Dignitas after retiring from CS:GO on April 22, leaving paiN Girls just days after the collapse of its roster. Her career stems from the original Counter-Strike game, where she started competing in around 2008 at 'aiMuse', before advancing through the ranks and signing for paiN Girls in 2012.

With the switch to CS:GO, showliana left paiN Girls for stints with teams including Keyd Stars Female, TiMe DaS LiNdAs, and OpTic Brasil. It all came full circle and she rejoined paiN in 2019, staying there until she announced her retirement in April.

Coming out of retirement to play for Dignitas, showliana thanked her devoted fans on Twitter and said, "I haven't had time to read all the messages yet, I won't be able to reply to everyone because there is LOTS of things, but I wanted to thank everyone through this tweet who took some time to send something, it's been the best day of my life I'm very happy" (Translated from Portuguese).

In a separate tweet, showliana reiterated she wants to thrive at Dignitas, saying "I can't wait to lift trophies with you [Dignitas' roster]".

Now with a complete roster, Dignitas Female will set its sights on the ESEA Main Season 35, which is set to kick off on August 31. Most recently Digntas secured second place at DreamHack Showdown Summer 2020: North America, getting its hands on a $6,000 prize before being beaten in the final by Counter Logic Gaming Red. With showliana in the roster, will the squad be able to go one better and become queens of North America?
