Dev1ce Reportedly Eyes Astralis Return 'In The Near Future'

After stunning the world earlier this year with a move away from Astralis, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is reportedly eyeing a return to the organisation where he made his name.

Having become known as one of the greatest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players of all time with an AWP in his arsenal, the 26-year-old Dane won four Majors during his time at Astralis, with many more tournament titles under his belt and numerous MVP awards. However, after leaving to join Swedish organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas in April, reports have now emerged that he is targeting a return.

Dev1ce Could Return To Astralis

According to a joint report between Dexerto and 1pv.fr, Dev1ce is unhappy with life at NiP, with on and off the field factors pushing Dev1ce back towards a return to Astralis.

The report suggests that one of the major reasons for his return is that the move to NiP was largely influenced by his living situation, having owned an apartment with his then-girlfriend in Stockholm. Now, it is believed he's moved back to Copenhagen and maybe looking for an organisation based in Denmark, such as Astralis.

On the field, NiP has yet to showcase their true potential with Dev1ce in the side, and was left visibly frustrated by their shock exit in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals against dead-rubber Team Liquid. Vocally admitting that he was "disappointed", it comes as no surprise, having won just one title all year long at IEM Fall.

Could Dev1ce Actually Re-sign for Astralis?

The implications of the transfer rely heavily on the huge sum that was allegedly put on the table to secure the original transfer. It's believed that Dev1ce's transfer cost NiP approximately $700,000 - according to a cryptic financial report from Astralis showing the sum listed as an "other operating income". With NiP likely wanting a large slice of their funds back to target a replacement, the negotiations between each party are yet to be revealed.

As for Astralis, their recent woes with the AWP in hand may see them push for Dev1ce's signature. After seeing the young Philip "Lucky" Ewald be stripped of the sniper in favour of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander, it wouldn't be unfeasible to think Dev1ce's consistency would be the desired quality for a topsy-turvy Astralis roster.
