Demon Slayer has had a meteoric upshot since kicking off. The anime series seemed to become an overnight sensation, with the first episode serving as a taster of the bombastic action and heartfelt storytelling that lay in wait for fans. Ever since, it has been winning over more viewers with each episode.
And now, two seasons and a movie down, fans are wondering where exactly Demon Slayer season 3 will be taking us and for how long it'll be remaining true to its original manga series. Although the end of Demon Slayer season 2 confirmed we'll be back for more, when exactly will that be? Here's everything we know about Demon Slayer season 3.
Is There A Demon Slayer Season 3 Release Date?
Update: Demon Slayer season 3 aired on April 9, 2023, with the English dub streaming via Crunchyroll on May 28.
Back in February, the official Demon Slayer account gave us a first taste of season 3 with a couple of new promotional images on Twitter.
The new series is entitled the Swordsmith Village Arc and is expected to make its arrival in Autumn 2023. Although we'll have to wait around a year, we're not that far removed from the show's second series and Mugen Train.
Who's In The Demon Slayer Season 3 Cast?
Click to enlargeThe show would be little without its core cast, so we have no doubt that the show will be bringing back the characters we know. Tanjiro (Natsuki Hanae and Zach Aguilar) and Nezuko (Akari Kito and Abby Trott) are set to return in both their English and Japanese interpretations.
We'd also expect that Inosuke Hashibira (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Bryce Papenbrook), Muzan Kibutsuji (Toshihiko Seki and Greg Chun) and Zenitsu Agatsuma (Hiro Shimono and Aleks Le) will also return.
We'll definitely be seeing a little more of the Mist Hashira (Kengo Kawanishi and Griffin Burns) and the Love Hashira (Kana Hanazawa and Kira Buckland), as revealed by the new promotional materials from the Demon Slayer Twitter account.
What's The Story Of Demon Slayer Season 3?
Click to enlargeThere are no promises about how the Demon Slayer season 3 story will unfold, but judging by the manga series and the title of the new season, we can make some educated guesses.
The end of season two saw the destruction of Tanjiro's trusty demon-slaying sword, so it's likely that we'll get to see the adventure that the demon slayers make to the Swordsmith Village so that it can be repaired.
There will certainly be baddies along the way, and that remains to be seen - but we know at least that the two new Mists will step in on the assist. Get ready for more swords and more slaying when Demon Slayer season 3 eventually returns.
