Esports tournament platform has announced that it will be hosting a $25,000 2v2 Gunfight tournament on Modern Warfare. The tournament will feature a mix of Call of Duty professional players and content creators.

16 dynamic duos will be battling it out for the $13,000 first prize in a double-elimination bracket which is looking extremely competitive. Let’s take a look at the full list of competitors.

  1. Shottzy & Crimsix
  2. Aydan & TBA
  3. Hitch & Jorge
  4. M0e_tv & Silker
  5. Lyndon FPS & Shaffer
  6. Dr Disrespect & FormaL
  7. iLLeYY & Clayster
  8. Attach & Censor
  9. Slacked & Classic
  10. SandyRavage & xCaliz0rz
  11. Xposed & Pamaj
  12. Shroud & bnans
  13. TeePee & Dougisraw
  14. Scump & 2Pac
  15. Speros & Gangstazsalute88
  16. TBA & TBA

Who’s Going To Win?

With plenty of talented pairings in the tournament, predicting a winner could be very tricky. The professional players are more than capable of making a deep run into the upper bracket but the content creators and streamers cannot be ruled out of taking it to the esports veterans.

If I was to predict a top three, I would have to pick iLLeYY & Clayster taking home the first place. A good mix of youth, experience and total aggression, this paring is going to be very difficult to beat. As always with these Code Red tournaments, I can see Shroud and bnans placing in the runners-up spot. Shroud is an FPS beast but I think that Clay will have the upper hand this time around.

For the third step on the podium it really could be anyone’s. With so many talented duos, I think that the Doc and FormaL can make a run into the money but I do predict them dropping into the lower bracket in the early stages of the tournament so watch out for them making a deep run.

Tournament Start Times

The tournament is scheduled to get underway at 8PM GMT (12PM PT/3PM ET). It will be streamed live on the BoomTV Twitch channel but if you prefer to follow your favourite player or streamer’s run through the tournament, you will likely be able to tune into their personal streams.

Cross-Platform Is The Real Winner

Without the introduction of cross-platform play on Modern Warfare, creating a tournament of this nature would be impossible. The fact that all these players can compete alongside each other on different platforms is great for both entertainment and competition. Where else are you potentially going to see the likes of Call of Duty world champ Seth “Scump” Abner do battle with one of the best FPS players in history in the form of Shroud?
