Horror game fans who are looking to get their scares without spending the pennies will be glad to hear that the spine-chilling Dead by Deadlight will be free-to-play. Although, you better be quick - it's for a limited time only.

Halloween may only come once a year, but games like Dead by Daylight help to keep the spooky season alive by scaring the bejesus out of us. Of course, the great thing about Dead by Daylight being multiplayer is that you and your friends can all be scared to death together.

However, don't just take our word for it, because players who are looking to have a go at the game will soon be able to play for free via the Epic Games store. Sadly, it doesn't look like the same can be said for Call Of Duty's Scream Deathmatch

When Will Dead By Daylight Be Free-To-Play?

Dead by Daylight is going free-to-play from the Epic Games Store library. However, you better be quick as it will only be available from December 2 until December 9. Don't worry about not having the right console to play the game, as it's available to play on a wide range of platforms - including PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Christmas is all about spending some quality time with family and friends. So, what better way to build up to the festivities than an asymmetrical multiplayer 4 vs 1 horror game in which one of your friends becomes a terrifying Killer who is hell-bent on hunting the rest of you all down. If Survivors manage to avoid a gruesome end and escape the Killer, they are free to breathe a sigh of relief and fight another day. Until the next game, that is.

What Other Games Will Be Free To Play On The Epic Games Store?

Survivors can also have the chance to face the bad guys as some of the most famous heroes from iconic horror films and games. This includes Jill Valentine from Resident Evil and Laurie Strode from Halloween. Although, if you want to want to explore your villainous side, you can play as the iconic Pyramid Head from Silent Hill or even an entirely new, but nonetheless terrifying, antagonist.

However, if torturous murderers and spikey-headed bad guys aren't your thing, you can always check out another game that will be free-to-play from the Epic Games store called While True: learn(). Although it might not have as many rave reviews as Dead by Daylight, puzzle-lovers are sure to enjoy this sim game.

According to Steam: "In this game, you play as a coder who accidentally found out that their cat is extremely good at coding, but not as good at speaking human language. Now this coder (it’s you!) must learn all there is to know about machine learning and use visual programming to build a cat-to-human speech recognition system."

Horror film lovers will recall one particular villain who loves puzzles. Will Jigsaw be making an appearance? Probably not. Let's save the horror for Dead By Daylight for now.
