We're seeing "red" in Fortnite as another Marvel favourite is set to make their mark in the map as part of the comic-themed Chapter 2 Season 4. It's already been a who's who of Marvel favourites as the muscular might of Thor, She-Hulk, Wolverine, and co. have added a splash of colour to the battle royale bloodbath. Later additions have included vampire hunter/hybrid Blade, but now, it's Daredevil's time to shine.

Epic Games has just announced the Daredevil Cup tournament, which will bring Matt Murdock's horned vigilante to life and give winners a chance to get their hands on his iconic skin ahead of everyone else. So, how does the Daredevil Cup work and is it worth the effort?

According to Epic Games, the Daredevil Cup will be the first of four in the “Marvel Knockout Super Series". Each Fortnite cup will focus on a different Marvel hero who hasn't been seen before in-game. As well as bragging rights and early access to skins, there's also a grand finale on November 21 with a $1,000,000 prize.

When does the Fortnite Daredevil Cup start?

The official Fortnite blog confirmed the Daredevil Cup will kick off on October 14, however, there's no confirmation on what time. The description explained, "Become the Guardian Devil of the Marvel Knockout LTM by competing in the first cup of the series — the Daredevil Cup — this Wednesday, October 14. Top teams in each region will earn the Daredevil Outfit early before it hits the Item Shop".

How do you get the Fortnite Daredevil skin?

It's not as simple as just joining the Daredevil Cup and unlocking his skin. Participants must place in a certain position before they'll be able to suit up as the Man Without Fear. With this being a trios tournament, you'll also need to find two others to build your own terrific team of daring Daredevils. As for bagging the skin, here's where your team will need to place in each region:

North America East: 1st to 500th place
North America West: 1st to 200th place
Europe: 1st to 800th place
Brazil: 1st to 200th place
Asia: 1st to 100th place
Oceania: 1st to 100th place
Middle East: 1st to 100th place

The Daredevil Cup takes place in Fortnite's Marvel Knockout mode, which is its own variation of Operation: Knockout. Here, each team is granted special superpowers in a four-round knockout. You'll be awarded points from one to 25 and placed in rankings from there.

What other Marvel Knockout Super Series cups are there?

As for who else could get their own cup, dataminer HYPEX has previously hinted that Venom, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel are lurking out there in the code - suggesting that some (if not all) of the above could get their own tournament time. The Fortnite blog continued, "The remaining three cups will be scheduled for next month. We’ll begin to announce them with more information starting at the beginning of November".

While there are plenty of people who'll remember the panned Daredevil movie that starred Ben Affleck, the character has had a resurgence thanks to Charlie Cox's portrayal in the Netflix series of the same name.

It's unclear what the Marvel Cinematic Universe plans to do with the character following Daredevil's cancellation, but either way, he's a popular addition to the massive world of Marvel and sure to be one of Season 4's biggest skin drops.

The introduction of the Daredevil Cup and “Marvel Knockout Super Series" prove that Epic Games isn't running out of steam as Chapter 2 Season 4 heads into its second half. Make sure you don't miss out, so gather your squad and see if you can climb to the top of the Daredevil Cup.
