Dallas Fuel To Play Live In Front Of Fans Against Houston Outlaws
The global pandemic is nearly being swept under the rug, as the world begins to open its doors to its inhabitants.
For Team Envy and its two brothers in arms, Dallas Empire and Dallas Fuel, their home in Texas is becoming one of the main experiments for a phased return to normality, as they're set to host the first Call of Duty League LAN in over a year.
Kicking on from where the world halted, the Stage 4 LAN will see all 12 teams in the league gather in Dallas to play host to Envy's Empire, although no fans will be allowed into the stadium come game day.
However, Envy's Overwatch fans may be more inclined to whip out their Fuel flags, as they will be given the opportunity to watch their team live in action.
Envy CEO Confirms 1,000 Fans Can Watch Dallas Fuel Live
Envy's elite fan base will be given the chance to buy tickets to watch the Dallas Fuel in action against the Houston Outlaws in their fixture on July 9.
CEO Mike "Hastr0" Rufail confirmed on Twitter that 1,000 EnvyUS members will be able to grab tickets to watch their side on stage, hosted in the Esports Stadium Arlington.
Houston Outlaws players will not be in attendance and will continue to compete from the comfort of their facilities.
Fans Finally Get To Watch Live Overwatch, Covid securely
Tickets for the event will be priced at $15, which includes a full screening of the two OWL fixtures prior to the main event (Washington Justice vs London Spitfire and Los Angeles Gladiators vs Toronto Defiant) and to see the players take to the stage in their June Joust match.
Hastr0 confirmed that masks are required for each spectator, vaccinations are not required, and there will be no meet and greet opportunities for fans and players to ensure the health and safety of the team.
Even with the stadium at below half capacity, it's still the first opportunity for fans to get behind their team in person and ramp up some extra motivation for the Overwatch League side.
