Parents - you can't take them anywhere. One professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) player has had his stream interrupted by his shirtless father, in a moment that is sure to go viral. With COVID-19 devastating the way we play, it means most big tournaments have been taking place from our homes. Despite LAN events slowly coming back, a lot of pro circuits are still confined to player's living and bedrooms. This can come with some adverse side effects.

CS:GO pro Gabe "Spongey" Greiner was happily shooting his way around the map alongside the rest of the Bad News Bears. The North American team was up against Russia's Etremum and there was nothing too out of the ordinary going on here. Greiner's match was then interrupted by (we're guessing) his shirtless father.

From the footage, you can see Spongey doesn't look very impressed with his shirtless daddy dearest. In the end, Bad News Bears were bested by Extremum and failed to qualify for the PGL Major Stockholm. Still, it's not fair to pin the team's defeat on Spongey's dad. After what seems like an eternity of waiting, the PGL Major Stockholm will restart the competitive CS:GO scene later this year.

The Major will run from October 23 to November 7 - with an impressive prize fund of $2 million. Even though Bad News Bears didn't make it through this time, we think they should make Spongey's dad their official mascot.

Away from PGL, Valve has announced it's taking proposals from tournament organisers for two Majors in 2022 and another two in 2023. The Majors will be held in May and November each year, while Valve also plans to help organisers sponsor a Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament for each region.

Ahead of the Majors, there will be a RMR in North America, South America, Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Asia/Oceania. Events will be held offline, with Valve vowing to provide support for the prize pool, travel and accommodation. The RMRs will have to take place in early April and late September. We assume the Bad News Bears will be competing, and with Spongey's dad having his new-found fame, we're hoping this isn't the last we've seen of him.
