Activision Nerf The CR-56 AMAX And FARA 83 In May Warzone Patch
Activision recently revealed that the Call of Duty: Warzone Assault Rifle meta is set for the biggest shake-up yet, with many of the Modern Warfare weapons being adjusted as the Black Ops Cold War guns have been shown a lot of love.
Well, it didn't take long for Raven Software to follow through. The developers recently introduced the CARV.2 Tactical Rifle which will send a shudder down the spine of any burst haters, and now they have rolled out a Warzone Season 3 patch that has nerfed both the CR-56 AMAX and the FARA 83.
CR-56 AMAX AND FARA 83 NERFS IN WARZONE SEASON 3
Both Assault Rifles have been adjusted to make them less powerful, with the heaviest impacts coming to the time-to-kill rate of the AMAX.
CR-56 AMAX
- Minimum Damage decreased from 32 to 31
According to the developers, this adjustment of one damage per bullet will mean that it will take one extra round to kill an enemy, reducing its fastest minimum damage TTK by about 17%. Against a fully-fledged opponent up to three plates, this nerf actually doesn't do much, but it makes it slightly less effective in team fights where players are weaker and engaging in trades.
FARA 83
- Headshot Multiplier decreased from 1.5 to 1.35
- Base ADS Move Speed decreased by 7%
Here, the FARA 83 will be less effective up-close, especially for the more skilled players. Whilst it can be argued that this lowers the skill gap (with better players connecting with the head more frequently), the decrease in headshot multiplier will give more chance to those who run face-first into the weapon. The ADS nerf is the most concerning though, which will likely see it slip down the pecking order and fall behind the FFAR and even the QBZ.
Other nerfs came in the way of the Bullfrog SMG (less damage but more speed), and the Streetsweeper Shotgun (ADS and Recoil balances).
PPSH-41 Buff In Warzone Season 3
The brand-new SMG has been buffed to make it much more of a threat in Warzone.
- Maximum Damage Range increased by 4%
- Open Bolt Delay decreased by 80%
The PPSH-41 is now much more viable in mid-range combat, something which the developers believe will make this a more popular weapon. Raven admitted that the weapon is less viable in tight corners than some other choices but should excel in areas where its equivalents don't - identifying range as this area of expertise.
The May 7 Warzone patch nerfs are now live and take no storage when updating.
