All good must things must come to an end, but when it comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, there's a treat in store for fans as Activision and Infinity Ward are rewarding all your hard work with double XP for the end of Season 4. That's right, get ready for some much-needed Modern Warfare and Warzone double XP.

Posting on Twitter, the official CoD Twitter confirmed there's a bumper bonanza of XP delights coming soon. If you log on between July 31 and August 1, you'll be gifted "Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Tiers". Sound the sirens because it's going to be a big one.

Activision added, "Need some XP or looking to finish off your Battle Pass system tiers? This weekend gets a boost to both during Infinity Ward’s Triple Feed – Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass system tier progression for all. Battle in close quarters in the Shoot House 24/7 or the Shipment 24/7 playlist, get your objective fix in the Deathmatch Domination + Drop Zone playlist, and be the Juggernaut in the Warzone™ limited time mode Juggernaut Royale Quads, available this weekend".

The event is supersized across both Modern Warfare and Warzone, which comes just after Modern Warfare introduced the new Deathmatch Domination and Drop Zone modes. Even if things are winding down, Infinity Ward is keeping us invested in Season 4.

The news comes after players previously complained about Modern Warfare's "fake" double XP to celebrate July 4. Players were peeved and took to Reddit to express their rage at apparent false promises.

Although it's the end of an era, it at least means we can look ahead at what's to come in Season 5. The next season is due to kick off on August 5, so there isn't long to wait. In the meantime, make the most of double XP and make sure Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 bow out in style.
