10:30, 24 Jul 2020

The final event of the year is upon us. With everything to play for before the World Championships, the stakes have never been higher. It's crunch time at both ends of the tables as teams look to secure the all-important final places. The Toronto Ultra Home Series is set to be absolutely massive.

You can find the Call of Duty League Standings, Team Rosters, Rules, full schedule and all of our recaps at our full Call of Duty League 2020 hub.

If you fancy a quick taster of what's to come, here are the top five plays from the London home series:

In previous Call of Duty news, the Call of Duty League was taken online, rather than LAN events in a stadium. Due to the Coronavirus, all future events in the CDL schedule will be played online and will be broadcasted live on the official Call of Duty League Youtube Channel. Instead of having each Home Series in the cities of the hosts, each team will gather in their team house for communication, and join an online game versus the other team, with your favourite CoD personalities such as Maven joining as Codcaster and commentating. Since the first Home Series to adapt this (Dallas Series) many teams adapted well, however, some players do experience lag, which has been the main negative of the CDL so far.

The Toronto Ultra Home Series will follow suit, as will every following Home Series and the World Championships.

CDL Toronto Stream - Finals & Warzone Weekends:

Group A

  • Chicago Huntsmen
  • OpTic Gaming Los Angeles
  • Seattle Surge
  • Toronto Ultra

Group B

  • Atlanta FaZe
  • Dallas Empire
  • Florida Mutineers
  • Minnesota Rokkr

Reigning champions Dallas Empire are placed in a group of death alongside Atlanta FaZe, Florida Mutineers and Minnesota Rokkr. There has only been on Grand Final that hasn't included any of them. The season is already over for the teams missing out here, such as bottom-placed Los Angeles Guerrillas alongside New York Subliners, Paris Legion and London Royal Ravens.

Matches will kick off on Friday 24th July at 9pm, with the first four matches.

Day One Fixtures:

  • Friday 24thJuly, 9pm GMT - Minnesota Rokkr vs Atlanta FaZe
  • Friday 24th July, 10:30pm GMT - Dallas Empire vs Florida Mutineers
  • Saturday 25th July, 12am GMT - Seattle Surge vs Chicago Huntsmen
  • Saturday 25th July, 1:30am GMT - OpTic Gaming Los Angeles vs Toronto Ultra

The Toronto Ultra home series will go back to the usual CDL timings after they were changed for the London Royal Ravens home series to fit in with the European audience of the hosts. Day Two will kick off at 6pm GMT on Saturday 25th July, with six games in total. The final day begins on Sunday 26th July at 9pm, featuring the two semi-finals and the Grand Final. Warzone Weekends will also feature on Sunday before the semi-finals.

The Bracket for the Toronto Home Series is as follows:

The brackets mean that three of the top four will be in the same group, limiting the points on offer. Chicago Huntsmen will be looking to capitalise on this securing at least 20 points through the group stages, which could see them surpass teams in the top 4. With all the top sides in action, any of them could finish in first place. For a home series, the stakes have never been higher. Down the other end of the table, everyone will be looking to avoid the bottom four, making eighth place the benchmark needed. Currently held by Paris Legion, Seattle Surge (with a miracle of an event), Toronto Ultra, and OpTic Gaming can all overtake Paris with a last grasp resurgence.
