CDL Pro Clayster Calls Out Dashy Over ‘C’ Ranking
A new year means new rivalries ahead of the Call of Duty League commencing. Previous seasons saw the likes of Dallas Empire and Chicago Huntsmen lock horns in the battle of the keyboards, more specifically the former best friends and integral part of the OpTic Dynasty in Seth "Scump" Abner and Ina "Crimsix" Porter. Leading into the inaugural franchised league, it made for fireworks as they opened the curtains and the Huntsmen came out on top.
Ultimately, it was the Dallas Empire who had the last laugh, winning the World Championships, granting Crimsix and fellow teammate James "Clayster" Eubanks a third ring.
Going into the 2021 season, it's Clayster who has decided to ruffle the feathers and brew up a storm with the Chicago side, now back in their rightful home at OpTic.
OpTic's classical tier list content videos had them ranking their teammates and rivals. So, when it came to the three-time world champion's turn to have his fate decided, Brandon "Dashy" Otell opted to put him in the fourth category to many fans' bemusement. Dashy joked that his accolades would grant him S-tier, but his individual performances are only worthy of a C. C for Clayster is not happy.
After being called out, it didn't take long for Dashy to respond, firing back a DM of Clayster saying he was doing it for impressions, followed by another jibe at his personal performances without the help of his teammates. He added, "I'm so excited to see what you do this year with no xeo or tiny terrors".
Going back and forth, Clay reminded Dashy that he was benched in the 2021 season and branded him as a "killwh*re", before boasting about his eUnited thumping of Dashy's OpTic side in Black Ops 4. The shots were ended with Dashy edging a sly warning in Clay's direction, stating "no one is saving you this year brother, looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield".
It's the type of trash-talking that fans have missed, and is beginning to generate the hype around the new season. Wouldn't it be fitting for the CDL to pitch OpTic Chicago versus the New York Subliners as the curtain-raiser this year?
