Call of Duty: Warzone is gearing up for the biggest change yet. It's out with the old and in with the new, as the Warzone Pacific Gulag is tipped to be completely different.

In the wake of the launch of Vanguard, a new map is set to arrive in Warzone - completely wiping away the Verdansk we know to make way for a new tropical aesthetic.

The battle royale title has never undergone such a change, and with the new Ricochet anti-cheat measures coming in at the same time, there's every chance that this upcoming update could change it all for the game.

Warzone Pacific Gulag: What's New?

Though it is expected that Caldera's Gulag will be getting a visual facelift, there's a huge change coming to the way that it works, by giving players a huge advantage if they're able to escape it.

From here on out, if you're able to kill your foe and escape the Gulag, you'll be leaving with the equipment you used to kill them. The news was revealed in an intel post on the Call of Duty website, which has unveiled a wealth of details about what to expect about the new era of Warzone.

"The Gulag now gives you more than a second chance at victory", it reads. "When Warzone Pacific drops, any player who wins a Gulag will drop back in with the weapon - or weapons - and lethal equipment given to them during that deadly duel.

"Those who survived Iron Trials '84, the mode where this feature was first tested, may know a pro strategy involving loadout conservation: any ammo and remaining equipment carries over between the Gulag and the redeploy."

So, if you're able to be a little more conservative with your ammo, you'll have more to fight with upon your return to the battlefield.

The new Warzone map, Caldera, is bringing with it a whole host of new features and gameplay additions, like a big nerf for Dead Silence and the complete removal of Stopping Power Rounds.

There's also been a nerf to the irritating gas mask animations, and the ability to wade through shallow waters in areas like the Lagoon add a whole new layer of tactics to the game.

Every change has been listed in the intel post, but there's a hell of a lot of content coming to the game - so much so, in fact, that it could make or break the new battle royale experience. We'll have to wait and see how fans react to the huge shift, and if the game can survive under such drastic changes.
