Update December 8: We received the following clarification from PlaytestCloud.

"This was a false alarm, the list of games in our signup form has no connection to any games tested on PlaytestCloud. Additionally, as this game hasn’t been confirmed to exist yet, we’ve removed it from the database. While we’re also eagerly awaiting future Call of Duty games, we unfortunately don’t have any information about upcoming titles. If you have any follow up questions you may contact the developer."

Get ready for some small screen skirmishes, as the latest rumours claim Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is coming to your phones in 2022. With Raven Software's battle royale juggernaut still being everywhere, it was only a matter of time before Activision tried to monopolise another market with Call of Duty: Warzone.

First released in March 2020, this Modern Warfare spin-off hoped to follow in the footsteps of Epic Games Fortnite and the emerging trend of battle royale shooters. This brutal battle royale has since overtaken consoles and PC around the globe - helping Activision earn a tidy $1.2 billion in just three months.

Is Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile On The Way?

It's crazy to think a free-to-play game can earn so much money, but yet again, it's microtransactions that lead the way. Both Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile have shown there's a market in porting series shooters to mobile.

The latest news comes courtesy of noted leaker Tom Henderson. He claims to have found mentions of a Warzone Mobile buried in the PlaytestCloud database. Henderson gives a loose release date of 2022, but if this is the real deal, it's likely Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is being secretly roadtested already.

Things look increasingly like Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will join a space occupied by the above and the likes of Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile. We'll just have to wait and see whether there's any truth to the rumours.

Are There More Call Of Duty Games Coming In 2022?

Sticking in a similar space, popular CoD streamer iFerg has claimed Call of Duty Mobile 2 is on the way. Well, if Krafton can release PUBG: New State, Activision would be wise to follow suit. The video suggests that a cross-platform CoD could be in the works akin to Fortnite before THAT Apple lawsuit.

Taking it one step further, iFerg says CoD Mobile 2 could include a Warzone mode rather than release Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile as a whole separate entity. Elsewhere, there's all the usual chatter about 2022's main entry - which is tipped to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

As for Warzone, we're about to get a whole new version thanks to the impending drop of Warzone Pacific. This tropical overhaul will replace the staple Verdansk map with a Call of Duty: Vanguard-themed locale.

There are all the usual calls of Warzone being a "dead game", but we'll have to wait and see whether Warzone Pacific and a potential Warzone Mobile port will shut the critics up.
