Call of Duty Fans Are Begging For A Standalone Zombies Game
Every once in a while, the same conversation arises when it comes to Call of Duty. While it’s got a great multiplayer mode and underrated campaign options, but a lot of players across the world come to the series for one thing - the Zombies mode. Every game that has a proper Zombies offering always seems to have more longevity compared to others, and often grabs more online attention. So, with that in mind - why on earth isn’t there a standalone game yet?
It would make perfect sense, and it would keep Zombies fans happy for years to come. And now, fans are going feral online wondering where the game actually is.
Fans Discuss What They Want In The Zombies Standalone Game
A post in the CODZombies subreddit has prompted a wider conversation about what fans want from the long-awaited standalone Call of Duty Zombies game.
“What would you guys think if Zombies became its own separate game like Warzone with Treyarch being the developers?” asks Reddit user shweba16. “What if this separate Zombies game had all the maps whilst running on BO3 mechanics while also having the upgradable features from CW (more story-specific characters as well unlike most of the generic CW operators)?”
It seems like a pretty good idea, and a good combination of the ideas that have swirled online since rumours of a standalone Zombies title began many years ago. “Personally I think I’d spent [sic] all my time on this game if it came into reality”, says the original poster. We’re right there with them.
But, good news - they might not actually have to wait that long for the game, as it has been reported that the game could be on its way.
Zombies Standalone Game Reported To Be In Development
It was actually reported earlier this year by popular FPS leaker Tom Henderson that a new Call of Duty Zombies standalone game is in very early development. In February, it was suggested that a brand-new game is currently being made.
Whether this is a case of confusion after Treyarch were confirmed to develop Vanguard’s Zombies mode is yet to be seen, but if this is still going ahead, we might not have much longer to wait for the standalone title.
Fingers crossed it’s coming soon, because our trigger fingers are starting to itch.
