Marc "Caedrel" Robert Lamont has departed from Excel Esports after two years as their Jungler.

Excel announced through their official Twitter page that the 24-year-old Brit will be leaving the organisation, stating "Thank you for everything, there will always be a home here for you. Now go smash whatever you do next".

Having played both Midlaner and Jungler during his career which has led him from Giants Gaming back in 2015 to teams such as Ninjas in Pyjamas and finally Excel, Caedral has also pursued commentary, which saw him become a Colour Caster and Analyst at the League of Legends World Championships 2020.

Speaking on his own Twitter, Caedral stated "Thank you EXCEL for trusting me 2 years ago. Saddens me a lot to leave, didn't bring them the success id hoped for when I started this journey but I'm grateful for everything they've done for me. Best of luck moving forwards".

What's next for Caedral is yet to be known. On October 7 he announced that Excel was allowing him to explore other options as his contract became up for renewal, and appealed to teams on Twitter ahead of the free agency period. Whether he will continue to compete or head into full-time commentary is yet to be known.

As for Excel, this leaves them without a Jungler ahead of the transfer window. Their second team, BT Excel, boast Danish Jungler Christian "Taxer" Jensen who may look to make the step up after three years, or the organisation may look to plunge into the transfer window and secure a top-of-the-range player to fill the void. With jungler as one of the most technical and important roles, the side will need to get their choice right if they want to scale the LEC.
