Broken Battlefield 2042 Hovercrafts Are Annihilating Helicopters
The grand opening of Battlefield 2042 has been… bumpy. The game's early access has lifted the lid on the game a touch early, and now that a release date is upon us, fans can't quite seem to make their minds up whether it's the franchise's best entry or just another Battlefield V.
Battlefield 2042 was severely review-bombed by fans on Metacritic, and while some players are loving the sheer chaos that the franchise brings, others don't quite think that the uber-destructive title lives up to the hype. One of the leading features of the game, however, seems to be its extensive focus on the "future of warfare" - and it's delivered, but not in the way you might expect.
Battlefield 2042 Hovercrafts Are Defying Gravity
One of the much-hyped features of Battlefield 2042 are the new vehicles - one of which being the hovercraft, a drivable behemoth with some serious damage output that can also drive up walls and buildings. Although, the driving up the wall part doesn't seem entirely intentional.
Some gamers are using the hovercraft to deconstruct the game's physics and defy gravity entirely, including Twitter user pauljohnYT, who has shared a video that shows how they were able to drive the hovercraft off a ramp and destroy a helicopter in the process.
There's also another clip, shared by YouTube user aimerslurch, showcasing how the hovercraft can be used to slip and slide around the map while crushing foes under its incredible weight. The vehicle is pretty versatile, but also, pretty game-breaking at the same time - so fans are calling for it to be nerfed. Obviously.
Players Cry For Battlefield 2042 Hovercraft Nerf
Following fans' discovery of quite how versatile the game's hovercrafts are, Battlefield 2042's subreddit has devolved into cries for the vehicle to get a nerf. "They're way too tanky and effective", says one commenter on a video of a hovercraft colliding with another vehicle, causing it to explode leaving the hovercraft itself completely unscathed.
"Man it's not even the weapons on the hovercraft make it so good," says another user. "It's the fact that it's more mobile than the truck, has more health and spends its time running in the backlines just running people over."
Battlefield 2042 hovercraft fans might have a point, and the vehicle is probably due a down-scaling - but frankly, this vehicle that looks the most destructible of the lot being an absolute powerhouse is too funny to simply ignore. Fingers crossed it's considered when balancing the game, but until then, we're happy to just sit back and laugh at just how absurd the vehicle is.
