When Cloud9's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive General Manager Henry "HenryG" Greer teased a Brit to join the ranks, not a lot of people were thinking of this newcomer. William "mezii" Merriman will be joining the North American organisation on a three-year contract. Once again, Cloud9 remained true to their transparent ways and released the details on the contract, disclosing that they had paid a $83,000 (~£65,000) transfer fee and will be paying mezii a salary of $426,000 (~£330,000) spread over three years.

In a statement, HenryG waxed lyrically about his new player. He described mezii as an up and coming talent in the UK CS:GO scene and talked about his qualities as a clutch player, with calm demeanour and extensive knowledge of the game.

Previously, mezii had played for German organisation Team GamerLegion. He will be joining Cloud9 as a supportive rifler.

Cloud9's CS:GO team had recently signed former broadcast talent and Counter-Strike pro player HenryG as their general manager. Together with head coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović, HenryG had been rebuilding the Cloud9 CS:GO roster from the ground up, recruiting also British player Alex "ALEX" McMeekin as their first signing. At least three more members are expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
