Brand-New Screenshots From Elden Ring Released
Ah, Elden Ring. It’s nice to see the game in the news, as it feels like we need reminders that it’s actually on its way.
Though the game was recently delayed by a month, it still doesn’t feel quite right. The hands behind Dark Souls and the mind behind Game of Thrones coming together for a fantasy epic beyond our wildest dreams still seems like a bonkers smattering of ideas you’d only get if you spun a wheel, but it’s definitely coming now, and it looks set to dominate the fantasy genre and pave the way for a new FromSoftware era on new-gen consoles.
And now we have a few little peeks behind the curtain at what awaits us in Elden Ring, and hoo boy, does it look big.
Elden Ring Reveals New Screenshots
Frankly, we’ll take what we can get. Some new screenshots have been revealed as a part of Elden Ring’s promotions, and fans are loving their new looks at the new fantasy juggernaut.
The first (as does the second) comes courtesy of the official Elden Ring Twitter account, in a tweet that unveils that selection will begin soon for the game’s closed network test.
Attached to it is a screenshot, showing the player character and some allies facing off against a stony behemoth, with a massive weapon in hand.
The second tweet comes with a quote: “Traveler from beyond the Fog, I am Melina. I offer you an accord.” It also shows the player and another character (let’s assume that it’s Melina) sat by some kind of glowing object - perhaps this game’s answer to Dark Souls’ iconic bonfires.
When Is Elden Ring Coming Out?
Now that we’ve seen more of the game, it’s made us itch to get our hands on it ourselves. Though it has been pushed back, thankfully we don’t have much longer to wait - and given that the game is set to be of proportions we’ve never seen courtesy of FromSoftware, it could have been much worse.
Elden Ring is coming to Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on February 25, 2022.
The game is set to be massive, and if these screenshots are anything to go by, it’ll have a sense of foreboding and dread that matches its sheer, grand scale. And we absolutely cannot wait.
