Fan excitement for the future of Pokemon has reached a fever pitch recently. The official reveal of the long-awaited Diamond and Pearl remakes sent fans ballistic, and the surprise unveiling of a whole new Pokemon experience in Pokemon Legends: Arceus has pushed fan speculation to a whole new degree. The games looked riveting in their first announcements, and Pokemon buffs everywhere have been waiting patiently for new looks into the remade and feudal Sinnoh regions. Well, thanks to an official reveal from Nintendo, we finally have our first look at the box art for the upcoming titles.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Official Box Art

The official box art has finally been revealed for the remakes of the original Sinnoh region Pokemon titles, and if you played the originals, you’ll likely see some similarities in the box art. The art for the remake titles is very reminiscent of the original art, which sees the game’s respective legendary Pokemon (Dialga for Diamond, and Palkia for Pearl) looking upwards, roaring as they go. The only real difference in the box art is of course the new art style that the remakes have adopted, as the chibi design of the game has rendered the beasts a more plastic finish. Either way, the covers look great, and a loving ode to the original titles.

The official release date for the game has been touted as Nov. 19, 2021.

But still, these aren’t the only covers revealed.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Official Box Art

Perhaps the most heavily considered of the recently announced Pokemon Titles, Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place across feudal Sinnoh and adopts a playstyle entirely new to the franchise. The official box art seems to know this, as it sees the two player characters gazing off a cliff at a glowing volcano, in the company of some of the game’s Pokemon. The game captures a spirit of adventure akin to that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and hints at the game’s sense of wonderment in the face of natural beauty.

'Pokémon Legends: Arceus' official release date has been touted as Jan. 28, 2022.

The box art for these titles looks great, and if they end up being a great hint towards the game’s content, then we’re on board all the way.
