Blizzcon Announced As Online Event Called BlizzConline

We finally received an update. Due to the global pandemic COVID-19, Blizzard Entertainments annual convention Blizzcon had to be cancelled for 2020. The developer has now announced that they will be hosting a Blizzconline, an online version of Blizzcon on February 19-20, 2021. Despite the convention having to move online, Blizzard promised to bring fan favourite panels like the cosplay, art, and digital storytelling contest into the show. Sign-ups are available on the official Blizzard website here.

Over the years, Blizzcon had developed into a spectacle with thousands of fans travelling to Anaheim, California to be part of the action. Announcing new titles or expansions for their titles, hosting developer panels and esports tournaments as well as several artistic contests, the draw of Blizzcon remained huge, always selling out only minutes after tickets became available.

Whether or not this also means a delay in additional information of new titles like Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 is so far not known. It stands to reason that the global pandemic not only delayed Blizzcon but the development process overall, requiring further delay to provide information on these new games.
