The hype for Black Ops Cold War is immense. As Modern Warfare's year comes to a close, Call of Duty fans are itching to get a hold of Treyarch's' next instalment.
Lucky for Playstation players, you'll be able to get your hands on the Alpha test as of September 18 - 23. The Black Ops Cold War Early Acess went live at 5pm BST, exclusive to those on Playstation. How To Get The Black Ops Cold War Early Access
You can get your hands on the Black Ops Cold War Early Access by downloading it from the Playstation store, free of charge. It will be playable until September 23, with four maps playable across selected game modes. You will be able to dive into Crossroads, Miami, Moscow, and Satelite to play the likes of Kill Confirmed and Team Deathmatch, and even try out the new game mode 'Combined Arms' in a team of 12. If you have been granted a code for this, you may download the Alpha from the Playstation Store and enter your access code. This will give you unlimited access of the alpha over the weekend, to play against other PlayStation players. Beware, many of the best CDL pros and content creators will be jumping in too, so bring your A-game.
What about Xbox and PC
Well, unfortunately for some, the Alpha is strictly for Playstation as Sony continues to ramp up their relationship with Activision. For Xbox and PC players, you may have to wait until the beta is released. To get hold of the beta you will have to pre-order any of the three editions of Black Ops Cold War. When a date is revealed for the beta, players will be informed through email and on the official social media pages, allowing you to download the game early and get a taster for what will be available upon the full release on November 13. You can pre-order to get the Black Ops Cold War Early Access through the store in Modern Warfare, or through any of the console stores.
The other way you can get the beta is through giveaways. The Call of Duty League World Championship Weekend offered 10,000 beta codes to viewers, which were dropped to those who tuned in through the app or website and had linked their Activision account. If you were lucky enough to secure one of these, you will also be able to access the beta when it is released.
