Best Galil loadout & attachments for Modern Warfare and Warzone

In the most recent update, Modern Warfare Season 4, the Galil (AMAX) has been added. Originally featured in Black Ops 1, this Assault Rifle is an all-round monster.

With a relatively quick fire rate, high damage, and exquisite control, the Galil is a warm welcome to Modern Warfare, where the M4A1 has dominated for so long. This may be the new weapon meta we've all been waiting for. With new weapons comes a grey area in how to set your guns up, but we've got you covered.

In multiplayer, you will often have to utilise an Assault Rifle’s mobility and speed to snap onto multiple targets accurately and outgun opponents in short-range combat, as well as over long distances. The Galil has a slower fire rate than the M4A1, but deals more damage, meaning that you will have to be more accurate with the Galil than weapons you may have previously used.

This combination turns the Galil into a short-range beast, taking three to four bullets for a kill depending on range. The Merc Foregrip is crucial in multiplayer matches, allowing for a near-perfect first bullet and accuracy, whilst the Stippled Wrap and no stock make aiming from one opponent to the next merely a swift transition.

A monolithic Suppressor is key to keeping you off the map and maintaining damage. The only room for creativity comes with the barrel. Whilst the Intruder reduces range in trade for mobility, you may want to keep the default barrel and select a fifth attachment to suit you, such as a sight or a perk. In comparison to multiplayer, you will often come across players at longer distances, and with the extra health due to armour plates, you will need to kit your Galil out to remain accurate at distance. For this, we would recommend using attachments that optimise your aiming stability, recoil control, and aiming movement speed.

These will help you stay accurate on one target for longer before snapping on the next target. As you will often have a Sub Machine Gun as your secondary, you won’t have to optimise its short-range capabilities, allowing the Galil to shine from a distance. Swapping out the barrel on this is crucial. Equipping the XRK Zodiac S440 barrel will increase your range and recoil control significantly, which is perfect for Warzone. To keep you off the map and add to the range, Monolithic Suppressor is key again here, the only attachment to remain from your multiplayer class.

You will very rarely be hip-firing with the Galil so the Merc Foregrip becomes somewhat redundant, and the Commando compliments aim significantly, alongside the Granulated Wrap. Finally, the 45-round mags will allow you to shoot more enemies without reloading, something that comes in handy in Warzone.

Overall, the jury on the Galil is still out. It is too early to tell whether this could be the best AR in the game, with the bar set so high with the M4A1, but with its control and damage being a huge factor to its popularity.
