Arenas is the new 3v3 team deathmatch-style game mode introduced in Apex Legends: Legacy. Two teams of three battle it out in small, symmetrical arenas in a competition of straight skill: no RNG, no third-parties, just squad vs squad action.

Arenas comes with a few twists, including a deep Economy System similar to those seen in games such as VALORANT and Rogue Company. As such, there is an added layer of strategy topped onto the traditional gameplay.

Legend abilities play a major role in Arenas mode. Legend abilities tend to be far more game-changing in Arena compared to the Battle Royale mode. With that in mind, finding the right combo of Legends will be crucial to success in Ash’s Arena.

This guide will propose five different team combos capable of dominating Arenas.

Rampart/Wattson/Pathfinder

Despite being one of the weaker Legends in the Battle Royale mode, Rampart is set to be an S Tier Legend in Arenas. This team combo is built around Rampart and will surprise opponents with how strong it is.

Rampart’s newfound strength comes from Arenas small compact maps. Unlike in Battle Royale mode, Rampart will be able to easily set up and play to her kit’s strong suit.

A team set up around Rampart’s Amped Cover will be extremely difficult to handle. These walls block incoming shots and boost the damage of outgoing shots. In Arenas, Rampart will have three free charges of this ability each round and can carry up to nine total.

The main way to counter a setup Rampart is with grenades. However, this team combo brings along a Wattson and her Interceptor Pylon. Wattson’s Pylon is capable of destroying all incoming grenades, nullifying Rampart’s main counter. As an extra bonus, Wattson’s Passive gives her free shields, letting her skimp a bit on Shield Cell purchases.

Finally, Pathfinder is able to transport the entire team to the ideal location. The different arenas stay the same each round and have persistent power positions. Pathfinder can zipline his team to the spot of their choosing, allowing Rampart and Wattson to set up their defences right away.

Together, this team can decimate the opposition through careful planning and strategy.

Loba/Octane/Revenant

This next team composition is focused around gaming Arenas’ Economy System. While Loba is just average in Battle Royale, she is objectively S tier in Arenas.

Loba’s Black Market Boutique allows her to collect up a plethora of high tier loot for her team - at no additional cost. Each round, Loba can purchase her Ultimate ability. Since the arenas are so tiny, her Black Market covers nearly the entire map. Any loot placed in the arena, including Care Package drops, is free for her squad’s taking. Loba’s teammates can save up their materials knowing Loba will provide two pieces of loot for free off the bat.

This strategy deploys perfectly with Octane and Revenant as squadmates. Octane and Revenant can put their newly saved materials into their Tactical and Ultimate abilities. Octane and Revenant's abilities sync perfectly when used to aggressively assault the opponent. Revenant turns the team to shadows, and all three leap at the unprepared opponents using Octane’s Launch Pad.

This team combo takes advantage of the Economy System and allows Loba, Octane, and Revenant to surprise their opponents.

Lifeline/Valkyrie/Fuse

Lifeline may be the strongest Legend in the game when it comes to Arenas. Pros such as Mac "Albralelie" Kenzie Beckwith, Thomas "Flanker" Cook, and Jack “Nice Wigg” Martin received early access to Arenas mode. They took this time to run pro scrims and theorycraft some of the best possible team combos. Together, they concluded that Lifeline was a dominant pick.

Lifeline can purchase her Care Package Ultimate each round. Each Care Package includes an upgraded weapon, ammo, and heals. This is an insane ability in Arenas. Like Loba, Lifeline can save her remaining material to support her squad. With the Care Package Ultimate, Lifeline never has to purchase a weapon.

Lifeline’s strengths don’t stop there either. Lifeline’s D.O.C. Drone is great for healing the squad when Syringes are low. Also, Lifeline can purchase a Gold Backpack, allowing her to revive teammates with added health and shield. Lifeline is a top tier pick in Arenas all-around.

Lifeline’s extra materials can be used to fund grenades for Fuse. Fuse is one of the rare Legends whose entire kit consists of damage-dealing abilities. Fuse can unload different bombs and explosives at the opposition for a cheap material cost.

Valkyrie's contribution to this comp is her utility. Valkyrie can serve as a scout with her high-flying Passive. Also, Valkyrie is capable of transporting her team in a pinch or elevating the squad to high ground. This is a necessity considering Lifeline and Fuse have no movement abilities.

This team combo’s biggest advantage is the extra materials they’ll have available due to Lifeline’s Care Package. The Economy System plays a huge role in the Arena. Lifeline’s team will always have higher quality gear and supplies thanks to her Care Package Ultimate and the ability to heal teammates with her Drone.

Mirage/Wraith/Gibraltar

This team combo consists of three Legends that are extremely capable in 1v1 situations. Additionally, this team is perfect for pulling off flanks and closing in on enemy teams.

Mirage tends to be an afterthought in Battle Royale, but his skillset stands out in the Arenas mode. Mirage’s decoys are able to expose the enemy team’s position and give your squad some extra intel. Mirage’s Ultimate ability is insane for flanking as well fighting in 1v1 affairs, something that tends to happen a lot in Arenas. Lastly, Mirage’s Passive can help pull off some clutch revives in otherwise impossible situations.

Wraith has always been a strong independent Legend, and nothing has changed in the Arenas. Wraith players can use Wraith’s Tactical ability to scout enemies and escape sticky spots. Wraith’s portal should be used to set up flanks and rotate her team to safety.

Gibraltar’s role in this team composition is to support the other two Legends. If Mirage or Wraith get out of line, Gibby can throw down a Dome Shield for protection. Gibraltar is no slouch when it comes to fighting either. Gibraltar’s Gun Shield offers a massive advantage in the tight fights that often occur in Arenas.

This team comp is best used by talented players confident in their individual skills. Together, this group can overwhelm enemy Legends whose kits may not be as tailored for straight-up fights.

Bangalore/ Bloodhound/Horizon

A team combo built around the classic synchronisation of Bangalore and Bloodhound is sure to be successful in the Arenas.

Bangalore’s Smoke Canisters are a powerful tool on their own, but with Bloodhound, a team is able to conceal their own visibility while never losing track of the enemy team. Bloodhound scans through smoke will reveal the enemies in bright red, making them easy targets. All the while, the opponents will be unable to line up a clear shot.

This strategy will be exceptionally difficult to counter for an underprepared team in Arenas mode. In Battle Royale, Bangalore and Bloodhound are always at risk of a third party, plus, there’s sure to be other Bloodhounds and Digital-Threats around. But in Arenas, Digi-Threats are expensive and rare, and it’s unlikely the other team will come prepared with a Bloodhound of their own. In this case, Bangalore and Bloodhound have free reign of the Arenas.

Horizon fits well with this team comp, thanks to her powerful offensive capabilities. Horizon can boost to high ground and act as a distraction, allowing Bangalore and Bloodhound to do their thing on the low ground. Alternatively, Horizon can float the whole team to a power position while the enemies are blinded by smoke. This tactic could lead to a ridiculous flank opportunity.

Fusing Legend abilities in these sort of methods is critical to success in the Arenas.

Arenas is set to be the next big thing in Apex Legends. With Ranked Arenas releasing down the line, finding the perfect team combo is essential. Propel your squad to success with one of these team comps.
