Spotted an enemy tank in the distance? The logical thing to do would be to reach for the nearest rocket launcher. However, some fans have discovered a Battlefield weapon bug that makes another piece of kit far more efficient and effective.

There's a long list of powerful weapons in Battlefield 2042 which can really pack a punch when you need it. Even hovercrafts have been annihilating helicopters everywhere they go, but if guns are more your thing, you can check out our list of the best Battlefield 2042 weapons here.

Even non-Battlefield players would think that a rocket launcher would prove to be one of the most powerful weapons. Now, players have shown there's a particular sniper rifle that players will want to keep by their side when they're looking to take an enemy down as quickly as possible.

Battlefield Weapon Bug: Which Sniper Rifle Is More Powerful Than A Rocket Launcher?

Turns out that rather than reaching for the Recoilless M5 rocket launcher, players should be grabbing their NWT-50 sniper rifle. In a Reddit post, one player demonstrated just how much more effective the NWT-50 can be in comparison to the rocket launcher.

As you can see in the clip, the M5 manages to take down the tank with just three rockets. Although, because the launcher takes so long to reload, it takes 14 seconds to take down the target, and that's with it standing still. Not to mention, there aren't enemy bullets hurling their way towards you. In comparison, the NWT-50 takes down the tank in four shots but in only eight seconds thanks to its speedy reloading process.

Players were suitably impressed/annoyed by the Battlefield weapon bug - showing just how unbalanced things are. One disgruntled fan wrote, "I've destroyed more vehicles in 3 rounds with NWT than in 40 hours with M5. There's absolutely no way someone playtested this and said 'This is fine, let's go with it.'" Another joked, "Hey its just the biggest dev team that ever worked at a Battlefield, you cant expect the most basic things like balance to work at release."

Where Can I Find A NWT-50 Sniper Rifle?

Unfortunately, the NWT-50 can only be unlocked when Battlefield players reach level 60. This means players will have to plug in a good amount of gameplay hours until they can test it out, but no doubt the wait will be worth it. Whereas, the M5 is available for all players from the very beginning and is, in fact, the only ground rocket launcher at the start of the game.

So, don't write off the M5 just yet. Without a doubt, players who are still in the early stages of Battlefield will love obliterating enemy vehicles with the launcher in the meantime, but there will be plenty more exciting weapons to come. Not to mention, if you've also found the bug which makes you invincible, nothing can stand in your way.
