Battlefield 2042 Weapon Leaks Leave Players Fuming
Battlefield 2042 could be one of the biggest first-person shooters ever. We know it's a bold statement to make, but the evidence is stacking in the franchise shoot-em-up’s favour.
The game’s signature destruction looks better than ever, while the addition of natural disasters and a Portal mode bring a cocktail of classic Battlefield components that allow players to make their own modes. Battlefield 2042 looks like it could yet define the genre, let alone the franchise, even after the release of Vanguard.
Still, though, it's yet to pass the fan council, with some reporting that the game is nigh-on unplayable on last-gen consoles. Now, others have found a new reason to be upset with the upcoming game.
Battlefield 2042 Weapon Leak Has Angered Fans
One user on the Battlefield2042 subreddit claims to have received a copy of the game early. More than just jealously, they've upset a lot of fans - but not for the reason you might think.
Reddit user Aaronfrogger has shared a screenshot in the subreddit as if to prove that he received an early copy of the title, and fans have pointed out something distressing about the image pertaining to the number of weapons in the game.
The screenshot is supposedly of the full list of weapons Battlefield will have to offer at launch. After counting out only 22 of them, players are deeply disappointed.
With the new-gen title boasting about its sheer scale and many well fleshed-out features, a lot of fans feel as though 22 guns altogether simply isn’t enough to live up to the hype that EA and DICE have concocted.
Battlefield 2042 Fans Rage Over Limited Weapon Count
Some gamers are incredibly upset by the lack of Battlefield 2042 weapons. In typical FPS style, they've jumped into the comments to voice their concerns. Safe to say, the players are out for DICE's blood.
"Hope it’s a fake pic or there are weapons we can’t yet see", says user Frandaero. "22 weapons is hilariously pathetic for a full-price launch. 2 LMGs only for christ sake. BF3 had 6 at launch."
"After the technical test and the beta, I was afraid this was going to be the case", says PeterBeaterr. "It seemed like there just wasn’t enough guns."
Most are deeply unhappy about the lack of guns, especially as Battlefield is the FPS with arguably the largest scope and scale. The game might not be any worse as a result of the lack of weapons, but it does mean things could get old much quicker. Only time will tell, so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for more firepower in future Battlefield 2042 updates.
