It’s time. The Battlefield 2042 beta is now officially underway, and fans have been let loose with every weapon, vehicle, and tornado - free for them to go nuts with. The title has been a very long time coming for fans of the franchise and the FPS genre in general. Now, excitement has reached fever pitch.

Fan reactions to Battlefield 2042 are starting to spill out on social media, and many of them are (unsurprisingly) in conflict with each other. The many features of the game have been contentious, as fans can’t decide if they love or hate it.

Fans Are Loving Battlefield 2042

Some players, after getting dropped into the midst of the Battlefield have been loving the large-scale chaos that devs promised fans. The gameplay trailer’s tease of massive, bombastic, action seems to have come true.

Plus, despite a lot of fans worrying about how the game would shape up on previous-gen consoles in a game that seems tailor-made for the new-gen, Battlefield 2042 apparently looks pretty good on older hardware.

Fans Are Hating Battlefield 2042

For all the supports, other players have identified some problems with  Battlefield 2042. Some have spotted that they don’t even have to be playing with real people to deal with the toxicity that the FPS genre has become known for.

Popular leaker Tom Henderson - whose updates on the game have been informing most fans through the game’s production - isn’t entirely convinced by what he’s seen in the game’s beta.

Battlefield 2042's contentiousness may stoke worry, but with the game’s pushback, there's every chance things will be raring and ready to go for launch. Now that we’ve got a taste of the action, we can’t wait to take the full Battlefield 2042 for a test drive.
