Astralis' plans for the future are beginning to come apparent, with their complex contract crisis coming more prominent by the day. With rumours Head Coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen could be on his way out alongside some of their ageing trustees, Astralis has now secured the signing of an exciting upcoming talent.

Astralis has now revealed that 18-year-old Philip "Lucky" Ewald has signed for the organisation, having previously been playing for Tricked Esports.

The young Dane has less than $10,000 in prize earnings, which is quite a juxtaposition from the giants that Astralis boast, although it's clear that Lucky is one for the future.

The bright prospect comes in as their brand-new AWPer, and will seemingly take up a spot on the bench for the meantime, with the organisation keen to continue their experimentation with a rotational roster. The move could also see Lucky thrown into the starting line-up to free makeshift AWPer Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen.

Just last week, Astralis put pen to paper on a new three-year deal for their main man Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander, keeping him at the organisation until the age of 29. With so much experience and an inevitable time on the sidelines when his child is born, gla1ve will surely take Lucky under his wings and treat the young man like a padawan.

In a statement released in a blog post, Lucky said: "I have a lot to learn at Astralis. From their extensive playbook to everything going on outside the game. It will be a new feeling to be at a place where people have strong opinions about everything, we do, but I’m super excited to get started."

"I know some people are going to compare me to ‘dev1ce’ but no one can do what he does. I hope I’ll be able to show who I am, though, and I will work hard to contribute to the team in my own way."

Astralis' next venture will be in the ESL Pro League Season 14, taking place on August 16.
