Summoner's Rift and the Assassin's Brotherhood have crossed swords in a big way as it turns out Assassin's Creed Valhalla has a hidden League of Legends Easter egg. The latest entry in Ubisoft's long-running adventure series takes us to the year 873 AD and tosses players into the Viking war with the Anglo-Saxons. You pick up a bloody axe to play as a hardened warrior called Eivor. Leaving Norway behind, Eivor sets sail to England and attempts to colonise in the name of the Viking clans.

Riot Games' League of Legends has plenty of characters in its ever-expanding roster, however, it's a lot more mythical than Valhalla. The two worlds might seem a million miles apart (literally and figuratively), but now, Ubisoft has confirmed it has its own cleverly placed nod to the massively multiplayer online game out there in the bloodbath of Vikings and vengeance.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla League of Legends Easter egg: Where is it?

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla Leauge of Legends Easter egg was shared by Jared Rosen - Riot Games' Narrative Lead for Skins and Thematic Development. In Valhalla, Eivor heads out on one side quest with an NPC called Birstan. During the exchange, Birstan mentions a rather familiar-sounding story: "I once knew a strong-armed shield maiden who rode a boar into battle! She named it Bristle-Bold". Anyone who's ever jumped into LoL will probably have met the Legend called Sejuani.

Ironically, Sejuani comes from the Freljord, which is a snowy region filled with characters inspired by Norse mythology. Although some had clocked the exchange as a potential Easter egg, it's now been officially confirmed. When the discovery started doing the rounds, Ubisoft's Samantha Webb shared it on Twitter. Webb simply wrote, "SOMEONE FOUND IT!", alongside an egg and a board emoji. Although Webb doesn't reveal whether she's a LoL fan, it's still a neat inclusion.

This is far from the only Easter egg out there in Valhalla. As the game flips between the modern and Viking setting, there's an email between modern protagonist Layla Hassan and her brother that mentions the COVID-19 pandemic. A little closer to home with video game Easter eggs, you can find a Dark Souls-inspired bonfire, a delivery service task similar to Death Stranding, and some wayward chickens that look like they're plucked straight from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

We recently covered how Toys for Bob's Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time seemed to hint at Crash Bandicoot 5, while Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales also had a hidden tribute to the dearly departed Chadwick Boseman. Even though movies have become known for their Easter egg hunts, video games have been doing it for a lot longer. Why not head out into the wilderness to try and track down the Assassin's Creed Valhalla League of Legends Easter egg and tick another one off the bucket list?
