Apex Legends' gun meta is forever changing, with the most powerful weapons filling the contents of legendary care packages rather than wreaking havoc across Olympus.

Heading into Season 7, the most beloved SMG on the game, the R-99, was lifted from the ground loot and accompanied the likes of the Peacekeeper and Kraber in the care packages, making way for the laser beam Volt.

When will the weapon release?

The weapon is set to land as of Apex Legends Season 8, which is due to commence on February 2.

As Season 8 approaches, leaks suggest that Olympus will be treated to a new lever-action rifle: the 30-30 Repeater. With Fuse equipping the rifle in the promo art for the upcoming season, the weapon has been described as "Salvo’s most popular weapon" that “picks apart the opposition with hard-hitting rounds". The rifle seems to be a mix of the Longbow and a G2 Scout, adding more mobility to long-range shooters whilst packing a heft punch.

Which Ammo Type Will The 30-30 Repeater Use?

In a recent developer stream, the 30-30 Repeater was first seen surrounded by Heavy Ammo, indicating that this is what the rifle will use, although nothing has been confirmed yet. As a hybrid of the Assault Rifle and Sniper, it could easily fall into each ammo type.

Will The 30-30 Repeater Have A Hop-Up?

Again, it's unclear as to whether it will have a Hop-Up, with nothing official, although if we look at existing attachments it's quite unlikely to suit one. Unless it comes with a brand-new Hop-Up, the likelihood of it suiting something like Skullpiercer is rather low considering the overpowering nature of it.
