Apex Legends is one of the most successful battle royale games out there. Since its conception in February 2019, Apex Legends has moved from strength to strength, most recently with the successful launch of its new map Olympus in Season 7.

The battle royale mode has been fundamental to the success of Respawn Entertainment's game, but the developers have also found success with a variety of limited-time game modes which see Apex Legends played in a different way. Modes such as "Hunt" and the "Winter Express" were well-received and added a new and engaging style of gameplay that varied the battle royale grind.

Respawn's Senior Game Designer, Daniel Z. Klein, has admitted that he wants the team to experiment with more non-BR things. Comparing Apex Legends to the extremely popular MOBA League of Legends, Klein claimed that their Nexus Blitz LTM would be too much for Apex Legends, but there are "LOTS" of alternatives that could be done.

In a Reddit thread, the developer stated: "I'm not working on game modes but I sure have my preferences. I really want us to try more non-BR things; I think Winter Express was a wonderful proof of concept that Apex can be super fun in non-BR modes. Don't have anything else to announce on that front right now; I think something Mario Party like Nexus Blitz would probably be a bit too much for a game like Apex, but there are LOTS of cool things we could do."

Fans have since suggested something that would dive into the lore of the game and give more explanation into the story that Respawn has been trying to tell. There remain many unanswered backstories, such as the feud between Loba and Revenant, and with the introduction of Horizon's deep and upsetting past, players have craved more information on this.

Although Klein did state that there is nothing to be announced yet, future mid-season LTM's could be on the way which will offer a whole new Apex Legends experience.
