Heading into Season 9: Legacy, the Apex Legends developers had all eyes firmly fixated on the new violaceous virago, Valkyrie. Casting their doubts over the impact that she will have on the overall game, the dev team had an ace up their sleeve, in the form of the Bocek Bow

Named after Respawn Entertainment's own Weapon Designer, David Bocek, the bow has become rampant on both Arenas and in the battle royale games, boasting an insane fire rate (bizarrely enhanced with a hop-up), and deadly damage. With the ability to kill a player with gold armour in just three shots, the entire fan base has been begging for a nerf to implimented.

Respawn Entertainment have lived up to their resounding reputation again, and haven't beaten around the bush. Quite simply, the developers have said it straight: the Bocek Bow is getting nerfed.

Taking to Twitter, Respawn's Director of Communications, Ryan K. Rigney, said "Bocek and Spitfire nerfs coming today."

Without sparing any details into just what they are doing to adapt the weapon, the developer insisted that the patch notes will be rolled out later this evening.

Falling victim to the nerfs too is the Spitfire, which has been a popular choice for many, especially in Arena's where its magazine size has allowed players to chain kills. Although the light machine gun has become one of the most used weapons, it appears the developers are keen to whittle down its power.

On the flip side, this calls into question the power of Rampart again, whose kit seems to be punctured more than a football on a pitch made of thorns. Having a habit of posting up with a whopping array of lead, the defensive tyrant will be forced to whip out something shorter, rendering her usefulness as rather ineffective - at least her Amped Cover won't be obliterated in seconds by a couple of arrows.

The Bocek Bow and Spitfire nerfs will certainly restore a bit of balance to the game, which has attracted a huge number of players following the latest update.
