Apex Legends Add Penalties For Players Leaving Arena Games
Apex Legends' latest game mode, Arena, has proved to be a huge hit with players, as the permanent fixture has rivalled even the likes of VALORANT. The 3v3 tactical mode has added a new element to an already enthralling battle royale game, and for the most part, it's been a blast.
Until your teammate leaves. $*&%.
However, Respawn Entertainment has now deployed a familiar pillar that will mean players will be more than reluctant to leave games and ruin the mode for the other five players.
Apex Legends Arena Penalties
As part of an update on May 24, the developers added penalties for players who leave games before the end. The disciplinary action comes in as a similar handicap to that dished out in Ranked BR games, retrospectively banning players from future matchmaking.
The penalties only apply to players who leave full squads, allowing players to back out if they've already been abandoned - unless you were partied up with the leaver.
A first offence will result in a warning, with increasing amounts of time banned from matchmaking coming into play for repeated offenders.
Wattson and Valkyrie Adjustments
In addition to the Arena penalties, the Apex Legends dev team have also added a well-needed buff to Wattson's kit, reintroducing the stun to her electric fences. The buff comes as one of the most called for adjustments in the games short history, with the quirky character being a fan favourite, and now a viable choice again.
As for the new mistress of mass emancipation, Valkyrie, her kit has also been adjusted to be slightly more user-friendly. A slight input delay has been added to her ultimate ability after players had been accidentally cancelling the move almost instantaneously.
Wattson, Valkyrie, and another mischievous heroine in the Outlands can now wage war against the menacing men in Arenas without them whimpering back to the main menu after the first wave of flower power.
