Following the departure of 100 Thieves from the CounterStrike: Global Offensive scene, Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad has signed for Apeks, a Norweigan player-owned esports organisation.

Apeks as an organisation has an approximate earnings of $63,000, which is just shy of a third of the $177,000 that jkaem has amounted over the years. This transfer allows him to move back home after three years competing in North America for the likes of 100 Thieves and Renegades. His former G2 Esports teammate Dennis "dennis" Edman is among those who jkaem will now be teamed with.

The transfer is a three-year deal which will see him operate out of the Apeks headquarters in Oslo alongside the rest of the roster. It comes as a project that jkaem will look to spearhead, as they look to climb the world rankings. The player said "The goal must be to climb the world rankings and getting the chance to compete against the best teams in Europe." in a statement released by Apeks.

He continued by saying "I've had plans to return to Norway sooner or later. I didn't know when it would happen, but with the situation in 100 Thieves, my thoughts of coming home became clearer.

"Apeks came with an offer that I was happy with, and after giving it some thought, it was the right decision. The idea of contributing to help to build the Norwegian esports scene became the deciding factor. The last couple of seasons have been my nest ever, so I am coming to Norway with a lot of confidence and high quality in what I deliver in-game".

The new Apeks outfit will compete in the Elisa Invitational 2 next, which is a Norweigan-based tournament that will offer one place at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. They just have to get past MAD Lions first.
