Insomniac Games is poised to climb back to the top of the gaming charts with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Although the developer is saving the big guns for the inevitable Spider-Man 2Miles Morales is tipped to be much more than just a DLC. As a continuation of The City That Never Sleeps story that came out in 2018, the Sony exclusive (unsurprisingly) hands over the wall-crawling mantle to Miles Morales.

Miles was a standout addition of the main game and had even more time to shine in The City That Never Sleeps. The DLC content rounded off with Peter Parker promising to train Miles with his new-found abilities and potentially take over as the next Spider-Man. While Peter Parker has been a mainstay of Marvel Comics since his introduction in 1962, Miles Morales has become an icon in his own right since he first swung into action during 2011's Ultimate Fallout #4.

As well as rising in popularity due to praise for being a positive role model for children of colour, Morales found a whole new fanbase when he led 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With Insomniac's Spider-Man games boasting an impressive wardrobe of outfit changes, Miles Morales is also honouring the legacy of the character with its own Into the Spider-Verse outfit. Unlocking it is undoubtedly going to be one of the game's biggest asks, so how do you do it?

What Is The Animated Outfit For Miles Morales?

First off, the Into the Spider-Verse suit has a lower frame rate - which might seem unusual for a next-gen AAA game. The developers did this on purpose as a way to capture the unique comic book style the movie was filmed in. When dressed in the suit, Miles' attacks will be accompanied by comic-inspired "thwack" and "kapow" graphics. There's no denying the addition of this suit pops against the realistic backdrop of Miles Morales. It's more than satisfying seeing this comic book cutout pummel the Tinkerer's forces in slo-mo.

In the remastered version of the OG game that comes with the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, Peter Parker has over 40 suits to unlock, and with Miles adding his own crop of costumes, you might need to clear out some storage space or invest in a walk-in wardrobe. Easily one of the highlights of the first game was the Vintage Comic Book suit, but it looks like the animated Into the Spider-Verse outfit could give it a run for its money. More than just sticking another simple reskin in Miles Morales, Insomniac has gone that extra mile with its animated Into the Spider-Verse homage.

Unfortunately, grabbing the animated Into the Spider-Verse outfit won't be as easy as levelling up your XP and spending points in the back end of the game. At the time of writing, the Into the Spider-Verse suit will only be available as a pre-order bonus for those who grabbed the game ahead of its full release. Don't worry though, Insomniac later confirmed (via Twitter) that everyone will be able to get their hands on the animated Into the Spider-Verse outfit at some point - it just won't be on day one.

You have to argue that Miles Morales has a lot to thank Into the Spider-Verse for. If Sony's movie hadn't topped the box office and earned itself an Academy Award for Best Animated Picture, there's a chance Insomniac would've just waited for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 before picking up Peter and Miles' story. Either way, Miles is stepping out of the shadows in his snazzy new suit and is sure to clear the streets of thugs and supervillains. Now, you can leap across the snow-capped New York City skyline in your very best Into the Spider-Verse wardrobe.
