Among Us VR Mod Is 'Better Than The Original'
It's a case of murder most foul in Among Us, as InnerSloth's online deduction game has been recreated in VR. Although Among Us has been alive and kicking for the past two years, it's only recently really hit the mainstream thanks to its meteoric rise on Twitch and growing popularity among pro players.
Being brutally honest, Among Us isn't exactly the most advanced game with its blocky graphics and pottering around a doomed spaceship. If you ever wanted to really get in on the action, a new Among Us VR mod puts you right there among those murderous imposters, adding a realistic twist on the Cluedo-esque title.
If you're already bored of the unofficial Fall Guys VR remake, why not suit up as a pint-sized crewmate and try this Among Us VR version? Using Rec Room’s room-creation tools, the Among Us ship has been carefully crafted in VR. We've got to admit, it looks pretty great as the party game has been given a revamp.
For those who haven't suited up and blasted off into the cosmos yet, Among Us pits up to 10 players against each other as either crewmates or imposters. As crewmates try and maintain the ship by doing daily tasks, it's up to the imposter(s) to sabotage systems and then off the innocent members. It's up to crewmates to call meetings and try to expose the imposters before they're all offed. There's plenty of finger-pointing and heated debates, which is all the more fun when you're dropped in VR.
Among Us VR isn't perfect and feels like it's lacking features like those ludicrous cartoon deaths and reduced field of vision when the lights are off, but still, it's a good place to start. Given that this is just a starter, it's easy to see how it could work as an official tie-in. We all know how tense games like Resident Evil VII and Five Nights at Freddy's are in VR, and Among Us is no different as you try and track down the imposters before you find yourselves six feet under.
Only recently, we covered how Among Us was causing riots online when Felix “xQc” Lengyel royally kicked off an accused HasanAli of deliberately throwing a match. Basically, Among Us is causing more rows than your average game of Monopoly. Considering Among Us is still a game on the rise, here's hoping InnerSloth can see the potential of a VR version.
