Among Us x Pokemon Crossover Skins Are Must-Have Addition To The Game
Uniting the worlds of outer space murder and charming Pocket Monsters might seem like a stretch, but now, some brilliant mind has done it with the ultimate Among Us x Pokemon crossover. Heading back to 1996, did anyone really think Pokemon would go to be a multi-billion dollar franchise that has lasted some 24 years and is still going strong? The same could be said for Among Us' recent success when the social deduction game found a new fanbase two years after it originally launched.
Although there are questions over exactly what those doomed astronauts are and how they ended up in the cold abyss of space being hunted by shapeshifting aliens - if that's what Imposters even are - there's no denying Among Us is a pretty cute game. When you avoid all the murder and mutilation, watching Crewmates and their pets/kids potter around the ship is adorable. With themed skins being nothing new for Among Us, what about adding Pokemon to the mix?
Could Pokemon come to Among Us?
Posted on Reddit, the Among Us x Pokemon crossover fits beautifully with the colours of the Crewmmates - even cyan. Here, the colours are swapped out for Vulpix, Torchic, Pikachu, Bellossum, Chinchou, Slowking, and Weezing. It's easy to identify which Pokemon is which, meaning we can also imagine the skin line being rolled out. However, it's unlikely that a giant conglomerate like Nintendo would license out its characters to InnerSloth.
Although Fall Guys has cashed in on licensed skins with the likes of SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog, Nintendo is notoriously protective of its characters. It makes sense considering the great and the good of its biggest franchises regularly duke it out in the Smash Bros. games. That being said, Nintendo has added plenty of non-Nintendo faces from Castlevania, Minecraft, and even Sonic to make their mark. Could it start working more the other day.
What other Among Us crossovers are there?
Skins are nothing new to Among Us as InnerSloth has added seasonal wardrobe choices. Setting your clock to Halloween allowed access to a slew of horror-themed skins covering everything from the devil to Friday the 13th. There are also Christmas skins available to unlock if you know how. There's been a rise in fan creations for Among Us skins. Only recently, someone added Master Chief and other Halo characters to the murder mystery.
Unfortunately, the development team at InnerSloth consists of just three people and is notoriously stretched. The devs have already said they've canned plans for Among Us 2 to focus on the first game, so it's entirely possible we could see more skins in the vein of what Among Us does to make some dollar. Either way, an Among Us x Pokemon crossover has to happen!
