Among Us Is Coming To PlayStation With Exclusive Skins
The outer space horrors of InnerSloth's Among Us are finding a whole new fan base, as the social deduction game is finally coming to PlayStation. Despite launching on PC and mobile all the way back in 2018, the title exploded during the global pandemic and soared to the top of the Twitch charts in 2020. It's been an upward trajectory from there, with an upcoming PS4 and PS5 release being the final piece of the puzzle.
There's no escaping Among Us' meteoric rise as big streamers like Felix "xQc" Lengyel and Imane "Pokimane" Anys helped its player count boom. This surprise addition to 2020 rounded off with a Nintendo Switch release and went on to become last year's biggest game. Moving into 2021, there's been the Airship map alongside promises of an Xbox One and Series X/S release. Not bad for a game that most of us hadn't even heard of a year ago.

Is Among Us coming to PlayStation?
While new Ratchet & Clank footage was the main draw of the latest Sony State of Play, there was the surprise announcement that the clanking robot and heroic Lombax are also coming to Among Us as exclusive skins. Just like other versions of Among Us, the PlayStation ports will support crossplay and online multiplayer, however, only PS owners will get to explore the Ratchet & Clank wardrobe that includes a Ratchet-themed hat for your Crewmmates and an adorable Clank pet.
The official PlayStation Blog hyped the upcoming release on PS4 and PS5. InnerSloth Community Director Victoria Tran wrote, "Think you can trust your friends? Think again! Our social deception game, Among Us, is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year. Hop aboard the spaceship with 4-10 players via online play and get to work. Just don’t forget there may be one or more impostors on board ready to sabotage your work and take a deadly swipe at you". Better yet, all four maps are available to play.
When is Among Us coming to PlayStation?
Apart from a general release date of "later this year", there's no concrete window of when you'll be able to shoot for the stars on PS4 and PS5. This is probably for the best because it means there's no chance players can be disappointed by an inevitable delay. Only yesterday, we covered how Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach fans were disappointed by another delay. It will interesting to see if Among Us launches on PlayStation at the same time as Xbox. It sounds like it would be a convenient time to launch a massive update and another map.
Elsewhere, the Sony State of Play showed off 16 minutes of gameplay from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Even if the dynamic duo aren't PlayStation's most memorable mascot, the addition of their skins to Among Us are sure to be popular. The Among Us team has been known for dishing out Halloween and Christmas-themed outfits, but could this be the start of collabs with other big brands? Personally, we'd have loved to have seen a Mario suit for our Crewmates alongside the Switch launch. Either way, it looks like InnerSloth won't be ejecting Among Us out of the airlock any time soon.
